oh...a few discussions have been had about this album...i find it brilliant myself...lauper has always relied on "quirk" mode but for the first time (officially sans shine) she allowed her vocals to display her god given skills of subtlety to win over her usual hysteronic dramatizations...

lauper has always been a talented songwriter but on this album she proves that she is also a wonderful storyteller...screw the fun and playfullness of "girls just want to have fun" and "she-bop".....accept the pain of "time after time" and "i drove all night".....and appreciate the voice and talent that has become one of our worlds hidden treasures...

and oh yeah, she is a featured artsit on girlbros radio.....listen and enjoy!! mr.green

Cheers 4 that. "..and appreciate the voice and talent that has become one our worlds hidden treasures" well said, as i wasn't a huge fan of her earlier stuff "the fun & playfullness" but ur so right this cd shows huge talent, what an amazing gift she has with her vocals.

I got it for Christmas.

Very nice. However...something about the way she sang those tunes seemed a bit flat. Didn't showcase her great voice very well.
