One 'ALBUM' Wonders

Who are some artists that had only one album, and where basically never heard from again, that you wish would've released just a couple more?

.. anyone remember them? confused

the lead singer (the white girl) joined The Soul System, and actually had a very nice song on The Bodyguard Soundtrack called "ITs Gonna Be A Lovely Day" its not nessesserily a remake..but the chorus is the same.
Then she went on The Rupaul Show
now i think she is a radio host. I saw this on VH1 Where R They now.

2 To Make It Right was tight! It reminds me of the summertime in Brooklyn 90 i think.

oh and Heartbeat is good 2. My partner likes that one 2.

The album was aiight, wasnt that bad...although it mysteriously got lost some how sad
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

They were heard from again, but I would have to say the Sex Pistols.
I can't think of anyone who did more with one album.

I suppose you could say Robert Johnson, though his one album is actually a compilation.

Also The Family. I liked that record, though we did get much more from it's mastermind.

one album? Or one album that was great?

If it was one album that was great it's this band;

Arrested Development with "Tennessee", "Mr. Wendel" and "People Everyday"

Club Nouveau ---their 1986 debut album was a huge success, with major hits like "Lean On Me","Situation #9","Jealousy" and "Why You Treat Me So Bad".But all of their other albums were commercial flops. They were a great band, but unfortunately, their ego-driven leader Jay King pretty much ruined it for them.He alienated the most talented bandmembers in the group (Thomas McElroy and Denzil Foster, who went on to become EnVogue's producers),and backed out of an opening slot on Madonna's 1987 'Who's That Girl' tour, which would have exposed them to their biggest audience yet (the tour played many massive stadiums all around the world).

Milli Vanilli

Though their is a "Real Milli Vanilli" album made where the real singers where used on the cover (which is even worse as they are quite ugly compared to Rob and fab, thus what's the point?) and was produced by the same bloke as first album! So when Rob and Fab were busted, Frank went on and did another album anyway with the same voices!

The album bombed apparantly except in native Germany when surprisenly good single "Keep on running" made top 5 there!

Their is even a "Rob and Fab" album where they really did sing on their record, remember the Arsinio Hall performance they did?

some artists that spring to my mind now...

Sly Fox "Let's go all the way"
Afros "Kickin' Afrolistics"
Nu Shooz "Poolside"
Dream Warriors "And Now, the Legacy Begins"
Ed O.G. & Da Bulldogs "Life of a Kid in the Ghetto"
Young MC "Stone Cold Rhymin"
Oran "Juice" Jones "Juice"

of course most of those put out more albums than one, but only one was really successful (or offered at least one hit single)

oh, yeah and lets not forget about some P-rotegees like TC Ellis, Carmen Electra, The Family ...
.

dionne farris -- her album was the bomb long before R&B and Pop's return to live instrumentation.

I just sold that CD on ebay last month. I decided I didn't really like the album as much as the 12" singles and now I listen to a comp of those instead.

Madame X--one incredibly funky album and then they broke up.
