Man, when you find out, let a brother know... Internet rumors tell of an oft-depressed Sylvester Stewart wanting simply to be left alone and not reminded of his former glory.
This passage from "In Time" always makes me sad, when I think about his giving up: ... i switched from coke to pep and i'm a connoisseur -- 'bout time ... 'cause there's a method in the madness of the thinking -- in time - oh we oughta it seems the best of all the sadness is is a sinkin' -- in time - in time muddy water and there's a wreck yard in the mind of a quitter -- in time -- gonna git bitter he don't give a heck or is he blind and makin' litter -- 'bout time -- gonna need a babysitter ... He's like the 8th or 9th wonder now? Maybe the Funk Family Affair will hint at his whereabouts at the Stone Soul Picnic next week. It would be nice, and if it does happen, I'll pass the word. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

I read an article about a guy who met Sly and went to his house.
Apparently he let him listen to his music, which he has never stopped making, and it was great! Maybe someday he (or his music, at least) will be back. Check this song out at:

Even sadder is listening to Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin) and then Thank You For Talkin' To Me Africa. To me that says it all (even with the cool guitar parts).

The Family Stone We're just in my hometown yesterday playing a free show at the local lilac festival here! I didn't go because it kep raining on & off and it was outdoors, but I heard it was pretty good. | |
