Mavis Staples

How do ya'll feel about her and her music? Her involvement with Prince? Does anyone have these albums and if so are they any good?

I have time waits for no one.

I like it it's real different kinda gospelly but trying to be hip too, anyway hip for the timeframe in which it was release. She loved P don't know about the relationship now though. I was not surprised because he would go back and contact artists that he wanted to work with occassionally. I think that's how he hooked up with Larry.

We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color.

Love Mavis! I really liked both albums , and I thought Prince did a great job with the songs and production he contributed...His songs On "The Voice" are probably closer to the Staple Singers' trademark sound, the tunes he did on "Time..." are closer to the "Prince sound"... both albums are definitely worth owning, IMO...

Love both of these albums! nod

Great voice, great songs...
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I'm a Big Fan. Have her albums. Met her at Tramps awhile back. Have her Autograph. Also saw her with POPS and the other Staples at Prospect Park in Brooklyn.
