Gospel music.

Who here listens to Gospel? I have been getting into it lately. You really feel the deepness of your soul with that form of music. Hell, you don't even have to believe.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Which gospel artists have you been listening to? It's kind of interesting to read that you aren't a believer but you are drawn to the music. I on other hand do believe, but I don't listen to gospel as much as say my mom. I prefer music mostly the gospel sounds from the 70's and 80's and earlier, more so than the more straight R&Bish sounds of today. Not that there is anything wrong, just a preference. I'm familiar with the artists of today because I hear it so much at church, but my purchases favor more toward Andre Crouch and Walter Hawkins with Love Alive Choir, gospel great Mahalia Jackson. I do like Yolanda Adams, and I'm just now building a gospel collection.

Sweet Honey... nod nod nod .

I heard that founding member Bernice Johnson Reagon is retiring this year eek ; I can't imagine how I will react to SHITR future performances without being to lose myself in her rich contralto :-...|

Hey, anyone like The winans or Bebe and Cece! I know their Gospel with a pop flavour which is why i proberly like a couple of their albums actually!

The winans- It's time, everyday the same, a friend

Bebe and Cece winans:- Depend on you, addicted love, can't take this away, better place, I'm going up, the blood!

With these cats u can take it as a message to the lord or often as a plea to any loved one really, like "addicted love"! Bebe and Cece's album "Different lifestyles" really has hepled me through some bad times in my life, so I respect them and the winans tons!

"A friend" by the Winans is gorgeous and i can really relate to that song as I was growing up!

"Celebrate new life" by the Bebe and Cece winans is perhaps the happiest song ever!

Check out their albums!

Also a rap group called "Dc talks" is not as bad as it sounds, believe me! Album I have is called "Nu thang" and as embarrassing as this sounds, i quite like their rap/religious stylings! Some of it is very funky, though maybe a little too preachy in places which The Winans family luckily never were! "Dc talk" are nothing like the crap of christian rock or anything like that shit really!

Remember people who may not know much on this subject, Gospel music and Christian music are 2 completely different things! (Sorry to sound patronizing but Christian music really is THE CRAPPEST ever! South Park quite recently demonstrated this in a very mean, but funny and relevant way!)
