Kate Bush or Tori Amos? Not to start any arguments, ( I like both artists), but do any Kate Bush Fans feel likeTori Amos gets a lot of credit for musical territory that Kate has already covered? Or do you think it's like comparing apples and oranges?( I'm going to go run and hide now...) " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

Kate has been too lazy these last 15 years maybe that her creativity has gone ...but I can't wait to hear her sexual healing cover

She ain't been lazy... she had a breakdown of sorts.

Without Kate there would be no Tori (atleast not in the form she does it now) ! Futuristic Fantasy

Well, she had a breakdown and decided to be a mother for a few years, too.

Same for Outkast
http://homepage.tinet.ie/...tenews.htm From Contact Music: "Outkast hip-hop star Big Boi has a surprising musical hero - eccentric British singer Kate Bush. The 'Miss Jackson' rapper - real name Antwan Patton - credits his teenage musical development to Bush, and he's still so infatuated with the reclusive star he wants to track her down and get her to produce songs for his duo's next album. He says, "My uncle introduced me to Kate Bush's music when I was about 14 years old, and that shit opened my mind up. The first one I got was The Kick Inside, then I bought Hounds Of Love, then the The Sensual World. "She was so bugged out man! But I felt what she was talking about in the songs. Mother Stands For Comfort, Running Up That Hill. My uncle would explain what the songs stood for. Like The Man With The Child In His Eyes and all that shit. I thought, Wow! she's so f**king deep! I was infatuated with her, still am. I gotta track her down! I just found out that she was producing all that shit herself! She's so f***ing dope and so underrated and off the radar. _ It's cool isn't it?

She becomes a big mama, Prince should invite her to perform live with him on the Musicology tour

I really want someone to come on here and rip Kate Bush to shreds for being shite and whiney voiced, just to wind up Cloudbuster.
But it can't be me cause I think she is great “If I can shoot rabbits/then I can shoot fascists”

But it can't be me cause I think she is great I missed out on Kate for most of her career unfortunately and an artist really has to blow me away for me to go search through their entire back catalog. With Tori I got in on the ground level. That's why I prefer her over Kate Bush, but I still give Kate much respect. First Kate Bush album: The Sensual World in 89 First Tori Amos album: Little Earthquakes in 92

Although I haven't listened to much Kate Bush, what I have heard hasn't FLOORED me. I didn't like Tori at first either, but she hooked me in with Boys For Pele. I worked in a record store at the time and we played it in store a lot. It was the harpsichord that did it for me. Caught A Lite Sneeze, both the song and the video were just magical.

Sorry! I liked her, she just didn't move me like Tori. I probably haven't heard the right tracks... (maybe )

Kate Bush is divine & brilliant.
Tori Amos has nothing to do with this. she's just overrated, erratic & self absorbed. this album is just unbelievable: [This message was edited Tue May 4 12:49:48 2004 by Martinelli] ...Your coochie gonna swell up and fall apart...

i like both but i LOVE tori. i don't know that she's a better artist per se but i do enjoy her more. i think it has to do with the fact that, like sexton seven, i got into her with little earthquakes. i was a young teenager and that album broke it down for me. introduced me to all kinds of new music and 'educated' me. tori holds a very special place to me. even prince doesn't have the same effect on me
i dig kate bush but all i know is the red shoes and hounds of love. if i knew more of her work and the stories behind them it would have greater effect. also, if i'd been dealing with things that were spoken of in her music, i would be more attached to it but since i don't know the meaning behind all the songs (i never did take the time to analyze them) it doesn't hit as hard.
