First music video u remember

Mine was "Do the bart man" video on an english show called "Top of the pops", my older brother bought the single!

I vagely remember seeing Prince and NPG "Cream" vid on MTV

I fully remember Michael jacksons grand premiere of "Black or white" on top of the pops! It was a huge 'event', and the end street/panther bit was imitated by me and my mates down our own streets and schools 4 a week or so after that! Luckily my Dad taped it 4 my older sis' so I could watch it over and over again!

I'm getting away from your thread a little bit but what about these old school videos.....

The Jacksons-Blame It On The Boogie(1978)....This answers your initial question.....this is the first video I ever recall seeing on the Don Kircher Rock Concert show....Anyboy remember this music show/program from the 70's?

Imagination-Just An Illusion(1982).....Anyone remember this video to this great 80's r&b dance song?...In the video the lead singer goes into this house...and starts seeing all of these different images of women appear and disappear..it goes hand and hand with the title of the song....LOL

The Gap Band-Early In The Morning(1982).....Amazing stage performance video in which the Wilson Brothers decked out in their white cowboy outfits complete with boots and the ten-gallon hats..shows why they were one of the most exciting live r&B performers of the late 70's and early 80's.....

Rick James-Give It To Me Baby(1981).....This video was a trip.....Rick acts out the lyrics in the song...CLASSIC.....In the video he comes home in his limo....he's drunk...he gets out the car and goes in the house..goes to his bedroom...His woman...a fine woman at that...is in the bedroom with her silk night gown on..She's disguisted because she known why he's late getting home...Rick goes into the room trying to kiss on her...he wants some RELATIONS...but she ain't having it....So Rick begs and pleads.....GIVE IT TO ME BABY!!!!! At the end of the video she goes out to Rick's indoor pool in a nice two-piece and jumps in the pool..Rick goes out to the pool to and strips down to his bikini drawers and jumps in the pool too..At the end he finally gets close to her and they hug and kiss...CLASSIC OLD SCHOOL VIDEO...

Ray Parker Jr-The Other Woman(1982)...Another one of my old school favorite r&B videos....Great stage performance video...and there is a very VERY fine woman in this woman dancing with a cape and a two piece bikini on along side of Ray..Her name....Patty Kotero.....who would go on to be beter known as Apollonia Kotero. Yep she appeared in this video to one of Ray Parker's biggest hits.....

Great thread....these memories are great..I may come back with some more old school r&b videos....

I remember before MTV, we had Video Jukebox on HBO. My uncle would tape it. From there I remember a video by Al Jarreau and another by Mike Nesmith.

Honestly, the first video I can remember is Prince's "I Wanna Be Your Lover" on Midnight Special, way back in '79.

Never saw it, but it sounds like that groove deserved better. Sounds cheesy as hell. biggrin

I can't really remember what the first video I saw was, but one of the earliest I saw was for Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" long before Mtv's existence.

That was the first video I remember too. Me and my family watched it on PM Magazine (this was before MTV and Entertainment Tonight). The one thing that still pisses me off mad about the video is that the sound effects are really loud and overwhelm the music sometimes.

I don't remember the name of the artist or the song, but it was for a dance song in 1982 and it was a girl writhing in front of car some cheesy lasers in another shot a guy driving a car the girl in the street again and than the girl driving the car. I think the chours said something like I'm on fire or I'm burning up. Whatever happened to her. I thought she had some potential but I guess being a slutty tart doesn't get you anywhere. Oh well no one would ever pay $300 to see that video

Right, Paul plays all of the band members just like Andre, except he plays actual musicians, like (then) current self as lead singer, a young moptop Beatle Paul on bass, Buddy Holly on guitar, the keyboardist from Sparks, and I can't remember the rest.

My first ever memory is watching the premiere of MJ's Remember The Time video. I'm amazed at the level of detail I remember it in: it was on Channel 9, simulcast on Triple M, hosted by Molly Meldrum, and I knew what the word "simulcast", "mono" and "stereo" meant. I was one year old. eek

Well, for me, to be honest I don't exactly remember. It was probably a Prince or Michael Jackson video. Maybe "1999" or "Beat It".

I'm really not just saying this because I love Janet, but the very first videos I remember are "Escapade", and Michael's "Leave Me Alone". I LOVED those videos!
