I think its all comes down to racism, America doesnt want someone of color to shine.

The vocals and runs, and how songs are sung is different between white and black folk. And unfortunately, the cultural differences divide people and votes

Look at patti labelle....she is one of the greatest vocalists of our time, but never really had a pop hit or cross over hit. She is Highly under-rated

AND THE whole rubin situation. He won the show las' year...yet the media focuses on Clay Aiken.....and he is more successful.

Its a sad state of affairs....

as a society we must be regressing!!

Very true. Very very true. But in my favor i didnt really like Ruben on Clay..although I wanted RTuben 2 win i guess because his voice is close 2 Luther's, I'd be embarrassed 2 be seen buying Clay's album, and his voice is ok, but it is not Soulful. That's how i look at it also. Who's album would u be more proud of having?

Ps. u look like a cutie in ur avater! smile no offense. had 2 say it

It would surely be suspect if the judges were the ones deciding the winners...because "circumstances" and "politics" could certainly play a factor if that was the case...Not saying that is NOT the case now.....But letting the public vote on who they want to see advance and eventually win is the best and dare I say the most democratic way at handling this.....and HEY my girl Latoya had to go....got to live with it.....

-----

I think the voting method is the whole problem. Whether LaToya got voted off because most black voter's votes were split between her and Fantasia or if it was because people just assumed she was safe and didnt bother voting, it boils down to the fact that the voting method is flawed. LaToya was in my opinion clearly the best performer. Fantasia is good but I like LaToya better (maybe it's her looks razz ). Diana can clearly sing but I dont like her voice. Jasmine is just ok...I think Huff Daddy was far better. There's a SIMPLE SOLUTION:

Vote for the person you think least deserves to continue to the next round! The contestant with the most votes is then voted out. If they'd change the voting system to this method the problem would be solved. Most "democratic"? maybe not. Most FAIR? definitely

Come on. Think about it. I just cant believe that there's this HUGE racist group out there that watches AI each week and decides to call in millions of votes to the white contestants in order to keep them in the competition. They need to change the voting system. If instead of voting for your favorite it should be vote for the person you think least deserves to move on to the next round. Simple solution. If they changed the voting system to that method and LaToya got voted off I would then have to agree that maybe there's a bunch of racist kooks out there trying to eliminate the black contestants.

Im a white male. I didnt vote Tuesday night because I was not able to watch it until later that evening when the voting had ended. But you know what? I dont think I would have bothered voting because it was so obvious who did GREAT and who did TERRIBLE. Jasmine was going home and she was far overdue to go home. Why vote? I think there was MANY MANY others that probably thought just like I did and didnt vote. Meanwhile those that for some reason like Jasmine and felt sorry for her went, "Ooooh, poor Jasmine. Im going to vote for her. She's so sweeet." And so LaToya gets the boot and Jasmine got to stay.

Other's have the opinion that all the blacks voted for only LaToya and Fantasia and so the 'black' votes were split between them which caused them to be in the bottom two. I dont agree with this theory but if that's really what happened then YES, its RACISM!!! Blacks only vote for other blacks???? THAT IS RACIST.

Im not saying that a bunch of racist's are watchin AI every week.

What I am tryin' 2 shed lite on is that, its obvious that people are not voting based on talent.

There is more than meets the eye, and its not as simple as it may seem.

The AI audience and contestants are of different culture backgrounds. One culture may interept Talent and Singing style differently then another. I believe that because of this, the talents of those females vocalist's whom happen 2 be of color...is being overlooked. Isn't this always the case, I mean the name of this show is American IDOL. The ideal american 2 idolize?? I dont think that america has progress'd so much that they truly value & JUDGE all its citizen's fairly. Ask any young african american female or male if they are being treated equally to there Caucasian counterparts.... and you'll hear a resounding NO! If that isn't a sign of racism....and regression what is??

Anyone remember Frenchie Davis from Last season..? She was removed from the competition once it became public knowledge she posed topless on a adult website. Yet one of her caucasian counterparts from the first season was a stripper...

Why is that we keep lying to ourselves....maybe b/c the truth is too painful to admit.

This is my humble opinion....if u decided to reply and counter my post, be fully honest w/ yourself.

I definitley agree. The hawiians are gonna vote 4 Jasmin of course. The black fok's (and of course any1 with a good ear and has watched the show) shouldve voted for them, and lots of white teenage girls (like 16 and under) are gonna vote for whoever looks the most like their current Britney Spears, Jennifer...counterparts...

It's a sad but true picture.
