You and DavidEye already scooped up most of the goodies. (Oakland Stroke and Squib Cakes being a couple of my personal favs) Here's some leftovers: Soul Vaccination Don't Change Horses (In The Middle Of A Stream) Get Yo' Feet Back On The Ground Only So Much Oil In The Ground The following tunes from the new record (Oakland Zone) signals the return of one of the premiere rhythm sections in funk, Dave Garibaldi & Francis Rocco Prestia. Eastside... ...Eastside (bookend tunes in the Oakland Stroke tradition) Give Me Your Love Tribal Disorder [This message was edited Wed May 12 19:04:12 2004 by theAudience] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Yeah, the new album sounds tight! Also signals the return of Chester Thompson ridin' the organ and keyboards( and also saxman Lenny Pickett--almost everybody came home for this one)... Almost like back in the day! If they could have gotten Lenny Williams... Lenny was definitely the "voice" for that band.
I saw the band at B.B. King's in NYC late last year with Garibaldi and Rocco. They literally smoked the joint. A few more from further back in time: Knock Yourself Out On The Serious Side Ebony Jam Tribal Disorder "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
