"Just Be Good To Me" song...artist and/or title? I need help finding out the name and artist that sings the song with these lyrics that I found on the internet. On search brought up two sites, one that claimed that Deborah Cox sang it and the other that Mariah Carey does it. I don't think it's either. The song is from the eighites, I think. I used to hear it years ago. Can I get some help? Here are the lyrics. Thanks in advance.
Just Be Good To Me" Friends tell me I am crazy That I'm wasting time with you You'll never be mine That's not the way I see it 'Cause I feel you're already mine Whenever you're with me People always talk about, reputation I don't care what you do to them Just be good to me Friends are always tellin' me you're a user I don't care 'bout your other girls Just be good to me You may have many others But I know when you're with me You are all mine Friends seem to always listen To the bad things that you do You'll never do that to me, oh no People always talk about, reputation I don't care what you do to them Just be good to me Friends are always tellin' me you're a user I don't care 'bout your other girls Just be good to me Life is a game of chances So I'll take my chance with you And you I won't try to change We talk about it and I'd Rather have a piece of you Than to have all of nothing So just be good to me in the morning time Just be good to me, in the afternoon or evening Just be good to me I'm not the jealous type I won't let you down When you need me, I'll be around I'll be good to you, you'll be good to me We will be together, be together I'm not the jealous type I won't let you down When you need me, I'll be around I'll be good to you, you'll be good to me We will be together, be together

I have known the song for years but just wasn't sure about the artist. And I do know of SOS band but just didn't know they did it. Maybe I did know but forgot. It sounds more like a song by a female solo artist. Sorry I embarrassed myself. [This message was edited Mon May 10 6:25:27 2004 by VinnyM27]

Actually there was a really really good cover version by Beats International feat. Lindy Layton (a female vocalist) which went to #1 in the UK back in 1990 called "Dub Be Good To Me". Man that was one of the best songs of 1990

Jam & Lewis had a pretty good track record of singles in the mid-eighties, from The S.O.S. Band, Patti Austin, The Force MDs, The Human League, Herb Alpert, Alexander O'Neal, Cherrelle, New Edition, etc. If you're unfamiliar with their production work, you should definitely check it out.
It's probably time to start another "favorite Jam & Lewis song" thread.

this is the song that got them fired by Prince. While in Atlanta recording thhis track a freak snow storm hit and caused them to miss their next gig. Fortunately, they had a hit on their hands and have been going strong ever since. Now the ? is; will Prince induct then into the hall of fame when they get in as producers in 2008
