Did anyone hear Rockwell's third album, 'The Genie'? It's a total Prince ripoff. Actually it's more a Prince-as-The Time ripoff than Prince himself. I bought it after seeing him perform two songs on American Bandstand in 1986. They were kinda funky, but the album is very derivative. I've been trying to sell it on ebay for months, but had no takers. | |

Let's be honest,guys.Rockwell wasn't very talented at all.He was just lucky enough to have Berry Gordy for his father.On most of his songs,he wasn't even singing,just sorta "talking" his way through the songs.And we all know the real reason why his debut single "Somebody's Watching Me" was such a success....because of a certain background singer named Michael Jackson on the chorus but I have to admit,I liked the song "Obscene Phone Caller",with it's crazy lyrics and New Wave feel...
