One Of The Most Underrated Albums From Miles Davis IMHO! Forget about his UNDERRATED 80's music 4 a second, lets got earlier this time:
Or maybe not but thats truely how I feel esp when "Kind Of Blue" came the year after this one which is one of the reason why its getting kinda overlooked. If not then either I'm not paying attention or nobody talks about it that much. This is my FAVE Gil Evans/Miles Davis' collaboration, Gil truely shined through this album, I could safely say this is one of his FINEST hours. After half century, the arrangments STILL sound fresh and new. Who else feels this way about this album?

I love this album & the arrangements by Gil Evan is
beautiful. It's hard 2 name a favourite Miles Davis album because they R all so different with the different period of time. The Miles Davis album I've listened 2 the most & that I always get back 2 tho is In a silent way. /peace Manki

Great album, but I wouldn't say underrated. It's usually mentioned in his top 5 recordings.I've been digging on Round about midnight.

I'd agree. Good to see this album get your attention tho, Harlepolis. Frankly, I think "Seven Steps To Heaven" is one of his more underrated albums. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I agree .I think it's is the Best Of The Miles/ Gil Evans collaborations( I love their version of " Here Come Da Honey Man"- that audio shift from left to right).and you're right -most people mention Sketches of Spain, Kind of Blue or Miles Ahead Or Birth Of The Cool, etc. before before they ever get around to this one... Underrated? So one of the best-selling jazz albums, not to mention critically acclaimed, is overlooked in your opinion?

Add Miles Smiles to that too That's my next purchase, I suppose! Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

It's supposedly one of Norah Jones' favorites. Speaking of 'Porgy and Bess', I LOVE 'Prayer' (Oh Doctor Jesus). The passion in that song is sick. That dude in my avatar? I love that dude .
