before the bowie show started tonight in miami, a roadie or crew member of some sort was on the rafters setting the lighting. the man fell from above the stage and was killed from the fall. needless to say, the show was cancelled. the worst thing about all of this is (i think) that the venue had already been filling with people, so some were unforunate enough to witness this. my friend called me and left the message from the show but i couldn't tell if she saw it or found out upon arrival at the venue. its really too sad!

oh that's so awful...that poor family

I was holding my breath tonight at the Prince concert while watching the lighting techs climb the ladders into the rafters.Then they somehow manage to get into those chairs where to work. Scary...

the story about the death at the bowie show is really tragic, horrible news. my heart goes out to the family of the person who died tonight. i'm going to see bowie in just a couple of weeks, and it's going to be strange to see the show in light of what happened...seeing the reality tour earlier this year, i was impressed by how joyous and celebratory the whole thing was. i hope this doesn't cast a shadow on the rest of the tour, but i don't see how it wouldn't...

Clear Channel Entertainment is very sorry to announce that a terrible accident occurred before David Bowie's show tonight at Miami's James L. Knight Center.

A local stagehand working on the show suffered a fatal fall before the concert began, leading to the cancellation of the performance. Police are investigating the nature of the accident. A statement was read to the audience after the accident, informing them that refund or postponement information would be available shortly.

David Bowie and his touring company are deeply saddened by the news of this tragic accident and send their sincerest condolences and thoughts to the stagehand's family and friends.

Oh my god. I never knew anything about this but a couple of nights ago i dreampt that Bowie had been killed. It was really strange...now it is REALLY strange. Weird.
