Who knows somethin' new about the next Chaka Khan CD (with or without Rufus)????

In a recent interview,Chaka mentioned that her next CD is tentatively titled 'Like A Phoenix' and will feature contributions from Raphael Saadiq,Wyclef Jean,Mary J. Blige and the new artist Donnie.It was supposed to come out last month,but now Chaka is saying "sometime in 2004".

as for Rufus,she will not be working with them anytime soon.They have reunited and are now looking for a female vocalist.But without Chaka,their "reunion" is dead on arrival...lol

There's a new song by Chaka called "Something Good" that KISS FM. played last week 4 the 1st time.

Its a cool party song, I'm wondering if you guys heard it yet.

The drummer for Rufus Andre Fischer is organizng this reunion so more than likely Chaka won't be involved because the 2 have a lot of bad blood between each other. Check out her book, Andre has a problem with his hands!

Is she still using Heroin or is she clean?

She wouldn't release her book if she weren't clean but yes, she was of and on drugs in the 90's and then CLEANED UP 4 good in 2000.

She was notorious 4 her heavy drug use in the 70's/80's tho, it gained her the riputation of "The modern day Billie Holiday" and thats where her "WILD CHILD" title came from and I understand why she said recently that she hates this term.

According to the book, she was clean the whole 90's up from 92 till 1999 when the album's flop slapped her in the face then she finally got off her high horse and seeked 4 help from family members(Her sista) which got her clean, luckielly.

Chaka Khan reigns on New Age charts

CHAKA KHAN is back on top of the international charts thanks to songs she
co-wrote and performed for a new spiritual album.

The I'M EVERY WOMAN singer befriended new age star MELISSA VARDEY (corr) when
the two were working on albums in adjacent studios in England.

And when Vardey asked Chaka if she'd like to write a couple of songs with her,
the soul star jumped at the chance.

Now, their duet LIVING IN DIVINE TIME has become a big hit on new age charts
and easy-listening radio stations.

Vardey tells new age magazine EVOLVE, "Her spirit is magnanimous in the
movement for social justice. She is an incredible woman, very grounded and
free."

Proceeds from the LIVING IN DIVINE TIME album, which features the pair's title
song and another they co-wrote, IT ALL BEGINS WITH LOVE, will go towards the
International Literacy Crusade and the Chaka Khan Foundation.
