Lenny copies Prince??

When i saw Lenny at the Hall of Fame induction I already thought he took on a weird Prince Purple Rain look. But at that point i thought he did it cuz of the induction. But anybody seen the new Kraviz video? He totally copying Prince's PR outfits, dancemoves, damn he even got a big piano on stage. Well u have to see it to believe it.
I expected more from mr. Kravitz. Why he needs another man's image??
--- Where am I? ---

Tell me who in this house knows about the quake?

Lenny was on a German TV show a couple of days ago with his new straight hairstyle and the moment he appeared I said to my wife: damn, he looks like Jermaine Stewart (remember him anyone?)

soon later, the show's moderator (Stefan Raab) said the same thing... and Lenny wasn't too happy about that! LOL I guess Prince or ANY other comparision would have been more welcome by him lol

Yep, saw that one as well biggrin biggrin
Lenny has always been copying other artists and I don't care that much if he copies the look, it's far worse that his music is not innovative at all sad
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

It's easier to mention artists he hasn't copied, the list is shorter.

Sometimes he does it well but others he doesn't and I'm not feeling the new single.

I'm a fan and hope the album is better than the single.

Looking at a recent picture of Lenny is like looking at an autopsy photo - it's really gross and creepy, but I can't help but stare at it.

COURSE HE DOES!
I LOVE SOME LENNY'S TRACKS, SUCH AS THINKING OF YOU, LITTLE GIRL'S EYES AND OTHERS, AND I APPRECIATE HIM AS AN ARTIST, BUT IT'S SO DAMN CLEAR THAT HE ALWAYS REFER TO PRINCE.

PRINCE IS PRINCE. worship

confuse

Lenny's whole career is predicated on a lot of people without anything from Lenny, not just Prince.

Even the new video seems to be Princely. He performs and whilel the song
continues, the camera follows him through the back, down halls, to the dressing room where he seems really angry about something.....

It really reminded me of when Prince angrily storms out while Baby I'm A STar or I woudl die 4 U is still playing in the Purple Rain movie.

Its a damn shame when you give it a thought!

The man got tight musicianship but the mofo got no damn sense of individuality AT ALL!

Instead of focusing on his god-given aura, he tends to rip LARGELY from others. I don't mind borrowing cuz everybody are influenced somehow and nothing is freshly out-of-the universe but there're limits about what you borrow from other folks and when a person passes them limits, its called RIPPING-OFF.

Alicia Keys is the female version of that mofo too disbelief

The man is highly derivitive in his work. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy Lenny, and I think he's a great player, but he isn't the least bit original or innovative. Prince has always been one of his major idols, so its not the least bit surprising to hear that he's copping him in his videos.

what's that supposed to mean?

Personally, I think Musicology as a song and VIDEO kicks arse over Lenny's latest.

Still like Lenny, though.
