They both were/are pretty good. I personally like Kate myself. And there probably would be no Kate OR Tori without Joni. I always thought Kate Bush was underrated but that's my opinion....remember.....if it wasn't for Kate Bush...Maxwell wouldn't have scored big with "This Woman's Work".

Kate, Kate, Kate...a thousand times Kate. If only because of "Mother Stands for Comfort", "Hello Earth" and "This Woman's Work". But there are so many more reasons, without which there'd BE no Tori Amos.

Tori, only because she has a much wider body of work. But Kate also has a special place in my music collection biggrin Love them both.

i'm sayin'!

there is no artist today that would be around if there were no...somebody else. there are those who mimic (britney a la janet) and there are those who infuse (tori a la kate). the fact is, i hear a lot of influences in tori's work...joni, kate, zeppelin, cat stevens, judy collins...that is the mark of a great artist. she can show her influences and also have an incredibly unique 'tori amos' about her.

oh, i love this woman!

I like Kate a lot, but she's missing a certain modernity and eclectivesness which I find in Tori more....Kate started the weird banshee witchiness and fairy loving of course, but I guess I grew up with Tori more than I did Kate. But I accept Kate is a huge influence and the precursor to Tori.

I like both but I grew up with Kate´s music thats why she means much more to me although I am not very amused by the fact that she didn´t release anything for 11 years.
I think the cover of sexual healing circulates among collectors for at least a decade and I haven´t heard that it is supposed to be the next b-side.
If you read the Kate Bush Forums on the net nobody ever mentioned that.

Tori Amos has nothing to do with this. she's just overrated, erratic & self absorbed.

It's always the Kate fans that slag Tori and never the other way around. Why are they so bitter?

...and jealous.

Maybe if Kate Bush had released more than one album in the last 15 years (vs. Tori's eight or so), they wouldn't be so angry.
