Who Saw That Little Richad's Story Movie?

I saw that shit last night in some local obscure nameless TV channel and ain't no wonder why folks haven't heard of it yet. Cuz that shit SUCKS big oranges

I expected so much from such great casting(Leon & Jinnfer Lewis are houshold names) and from the rich filled career of the originator, the emancipator, the architect of rock and roll.

The production was bad and the storyline was fucked up too(Its ANYTHING but detailed) and like many bio-movies out there, it lacks honesty. Little Richard was the early version of James Brown, he got alot of STRONG mixed feelings from his band(They loved him & hated him in the same time) cuz the man was possessive and a prefectionist to the 10th degree, he would fine his own mother if she missed a note if she eva worked in his band.

And worst of all, the movie stopped in 1964 as if he died back then

On a positive note, the pre4mances were TIGHT AS HELL. Leon def captured the angery energy of Little Richard, yeah the brotha can act a flick to pieces but I sho wished this movie woulda been HONEST & DETAILED.

Then again, the excutive producer of this movie is Richard Penniman himself which explains why this movie is fabricated rolleyes

The scene of him sitting in the club while instructing that couple to make out while he watched them and talked about the guys muscles and the girls looks was just weird. I guess instead of "engaging" himself, he would watch couples and fantasize about being in both of their positions.

Interesting movie.....I guess.

Tooty Fruity, Good Booty biggrin. I forgot about that.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

I was just dying laughing at the whole portrayal of him...esp. him as a "sweet" kid. falloff

Richie is flamboyant, no doubt about that lol

I was laughing at the scene where that other pre4mer(4got his name) told him with a horny facial "I'm gonna make you the prettiest boy ever" and Richard gave him this look like "AOowww daddy" razz

Yeah, many folks thought he's a gay person but nope lol!

LOL @ Tccd, you's a fool lol

I thought Leon did a decent job, although his portrayal of David Ruffin will always make me laugh the loudest. Ruff was my cat!!!! cool

Which movie is that?

Leon is an UNFAIRLY underrated actor, I saw him in a play couple of years ago and the man is so damn possessivly self-contained he could absorb a fly if it passed through his eyes.

Black cenima is giving him the finger, they don't even know he exist.

GREAT movie.
Even though it was told from Otis Williams' point of view, it's still very insightful and entertaining. I was in a singing group throughout the 90's, so you know I'm schooled in Tempts 101!

I thought it was wrong to put Leon in Little Richard's role. LR was too pretty, Leon is fair at best. I couldn't get into it (he did a much better job as David Ruffin).

The movie was no way close to the excellent book LR wrote a while back... confused ...and why was this a VH1 television movie? It should have been done right - on the big screen with a top director and actors... confused
