Eddie murphy, the music he made!

EDDIE MURPHY: THE MUSIC ARTIST!

the 2 albums I have of eddie murphy are:-

1)"So happy" (1989)
2)"Loves alright" (1992)

Both albums have tracks that are actually quite good! "So happy" sounds very dated and it's funky/pop pre Newjack swing! Fav's being the morris dayish "Put your mouth on me","I got it","So happy","'till the moneys gone"!

"'tll the moneys gone" is funky but interesting as maybe their is some truth behind the lyrics! At the time, he was quite bitter towards women in general (check his stand up on "Raw") and how they only love him 4 his money, so that track is quite personal perhaps but in a funky way! He co-wrote the song so it is possible!

Album in general is a bit bitter towards women but not really much though! "Put ur mouth on me" is classic stuff and the title track is surprisenly poignant and is gorgeous sounding!
"Tonight" is also a great track! "Bubble hill" is a party song with Eddie sounding just like Prince (in Camille form) and is not that bad really!

His last to date music album "loves alright" is very different to "So happy"! This album is generally positive towards life and love and this shows by some of the tracks being pyshicdelic and hippyish! The last album was straight pop but this is more calmer and mellow in general! I still love this album but some of the trippy tracks are pretty naf!

This is the album with the Michael jackson duet "Whatzupwitu" and is one of the highlights off the album! The video was as weird as the song but with very good lyrics by murphy himself!

Great track! Also worth mentioning are the tracks that follow the duet "Don't give up on love" and "One"! "Dont give up on love" is a great light latenight ballad (not seducution ballad though) that is very positive and is great to hear when ur down! That is my fave off the album I think, it really does cheer u up! "One" is a clubby (for 1992) track that has a great bridge worth listening too! Again very positive sounding! Eddie now seems to of found love, not complaining about it as on his other album and this is a sort of artistic growth 4 Murphy in general I think! His voice is average but quite pleasant and he doesn't try anything too hard to sing which is great!

"Always is love" is a great positive again mid-tempo track that is lovely sounding with again conforting lyrics about love in general! Again lyrics by Murphy himself

"Loves alright" has got some dreadful moments though (the last 2 tracks, tracks 2 and 3) but it is worth a listen!

Both albums are very different though! (I used to have his first music album many years ago but can't find it so no review 4 that one)

Check both albums out, it may surprise u alot!

anyone else have these albums (or the first one), please reply as I know their can't be many of u out there!

I like Eddie Murphy's voice and songs... but because he was such a good comedian it's hard to accept him as a singer.

You just always wait for him to tell some joke and laugh between verses ... and if he doesn't you just want to laugh at him being all serious singing and sh^t.

I don't know where he picked him up at, but Bubble Hill is the area where Eddie lives, or at least did at one time. He might still.

Not to be an asshole, but I thought Eddie Murphy's "music" was so awful it couldn't even be taken as a big joke. Truly a jumping the shark moment was "Party All The Time" (which sounds like he's singing that his girl likes to 'potty all the time'). I think that song was when I truly realised that Rick James career was as dead as a doornail.

I'm telling you...Eddie had a Prince moment during the 80s. He attended a Hollywood premier of Purple Rain wearing a leather bandanna-like thing around his neck. You know, like that weird leather collar with buttons Prince used to wear. Then Eddie had the nerve to try to play guitar in one of his videos. Actually, it looked more like an accessory than an instrument if you ask me.

The video for "I Was a King." He comes off like some rock guitar god. Okay.... I'm exaggerating. I'm not sure if he actually plays it. But he's wearing it, like it's the cool thing to do.

Girl
I can't understand it why you want to hurt me
After all the things I've done for you.
I buy you champagne and roses and diamonds on your finger -
Diamonds on your finger -
Still you hang out all night
what am I to do?

My girl wants to party all the time

Party all the time
party all the time.
My girl wants to party all the time
party all the time.

She parties all the time - party all the time

She likes to party all the time - party all the time

party all the time - she likes to party all the time

party all the time.

Girl
I've seen you in clubs just hanging out and dancing.
You give your number to every man you see.
You never come home at night because you're out romancing.
I wish you bring some of your love home to me.

But my girl wants to party all the time
. . .
My girl wants to party all the time
. . .

Party
party
party she likes to party all the time.
She likes to party all the time -
She lets her hair down
she lets her body down:
She lets her body
she lets her body down.
Party all the time - do you wanna get any party
yeah.
Party all the time - party all the time
Here I am, you lucky people!
I know a thing or two about a thing or two!!
