Have you heard Alanis Morisette's New Stuff?

I heard her new song "Everything." It's ok-nothing too different from her other work. I don't think there will ever be another Jagged Little Pill. sad

That about sums up the last two albums, and, I fear, this one as well.

I have "Jagged Little Pill" and her last one...considering I can't remeber the title of the album it didn't make much of an impact! Other than singles ("Hands Clean" was so good, I didn't even question that the album was going to be great as well) , I'm not very impressed with her albums and will probably pass this one up based on the fact that the single is only OK.

I have her first two records...the second one...supposed former infuation junkie was just so....is chaotic the right word? there was no flow. I don't know there are some great tracks on it like FRONT ROW, YOU ARE, SO PURE and Thank U.

I didn't bother buying her third one Under rug swept...I liked Hands Clean -great first single-very catchy but i heard the rest of it and again I felt like there was no flow...

Jagged LITTLE pill is a classic. Still listen to that.

Actually, to say you want another "Jagged little pill" is like saying you only want Prince to produce Purple Rain every time.

Alanis' best album is the last one. That was her "SOTT". I hope here new album is her "D&P".

True on your "Jagged Little Pill-Purple Rain" point but I think Prince's kept his style different with each record. There realy isn't much of a musical difference between Alanis' 2nd and 3rd album. With the exception of some tracks, it's just ...chaos-in a dull way. lol. does that make sense?

So True.

Jagged is great, but how much of it is the content rather than my hormones!

"Jagged Little Pill" is definitely in its own category. "S.F.I.J." had some decent material on it, my favorite of which was "Joining You." I haven't heard enough of "Under Rug Swept" to really form a judgement, but I do hope the new album, "So Called Chaos" will explore some fresh, different territory...not necessarily looking for another "Jagged," as it is a classic.

The iTunes music store is currently featuring Alanis' new video, "Everything," for those interested. smile

I think SFIJ is not like URS at all. I think URS hangs together better, but its more guitar driven. I really liked the different beats and stuff on SFIJ, and the slight eastern vibe. Under Rug Swept held my attention for a bit, but I didn't buy the next one. I saw her on the URS tour and it didn't move me like her previous tour.

I really like her website though. www.alanis.com
