anyone seen the band yes in concert???

for anyone remotely interested in great music & musicianship, school is in session & i encourage everyone to take notes when you see yes live. i caught this wonderful band in concert for the very 1st time last nite & they are totally awesome. if you love the arragements of prince, then you need to see yes. like prince, yes doesn't alienate any of it's audience members & they give each member ample time on stage to display their god-given talents. no matter which member plays solo during the show, (keyboards from another world, acoustic guitar, piano, or killer drums) you will have an appreciation for every member of the band & their music will leave you utterly breathless. not only does yes work well as a classic mellow rock band but they take other genres to another level which few bands have ever done before. it's almost hard to believe they've been around for 35 years & still sound this passionate. in addition to sounding cool & making beautiful music, the stage set up was no joke either. yes draws from many different genres & plays them masterfully just as one would expect with the greatest of musicians trained in classical, classic jazz, folk, new age, & the list just keeps going. i pick up influences of celtic, west african, arabic, medeival folk, & some other great influences which i can't quite place my fingers on but yet i'm still mesmerized. if making incredible music weren't enough, their voices are harmonious & the lyrics are what i would call spiritual or ethereal. let me take that a step further and just say cathartic. it saddens me that some artists who nowhere within hollering distance of yes when it comes to true talent are charging ten times what yes charges for a good seat. all i can say is that yes is immortal. see them live if you can!!!!!
