Don't forget....

***"More Than One Way To Love A Woman"---This was never released as a single, but it appears on the second Ray Parker Jr. and Raydio album,'Rock On' (1979).

***"Tonight's The Night"---from the 1980 album 'Two Places At The Same Time',this is a sexy slow jam that sizzles! Herbie Hancock also appears on this track.

***"Bad Boy"---from 1983,this was a fun, catchy track with the delightfully absurd hook "Spank me,whoop me,just let me come back home".

***"Over You"---His 1987 duet with Natalie Cole.A classic!!

Man, I miss the days when I USED to love MJ. I'll admit, I cried as a kid when a broken down bus caused my family to miss a Jackson 5 concert. Too bad he just is a joke of his former child-star self. I cry no more.....

In a way, you can kinda can dispute his supposed "king of pop" status. Listening to some of his stuff (especially the videos), even off the last good albums he's made (Off the Wall & Thriller)....I find myself laughing at them. A few examples.....

I mean come on.....what the hell were they thinking on Beat It? Musically, its a tight rock song, with wack lyrics. In the video, Micheal, a street tough guy,is gonna break up a gang knife fight with a dance move? A kinda sucky one at that. Yeah, right. Even one some powerful psychedelic shit, thats unbelievable.

MJ is Bad???? The concept alone is laughable. Gonna kick Wesley Snipes ass huh? He's tough enough to beat down the gangsters in the hood?

Mike the virgin, saying its not my kid....when in reality
he doesn't like girls, but children?

Most of his pop songs lyrically are somewhat lame, and the video concepts were not much better. Wassup with him always portraying this street tough dude....we ALL know he's as punk as they come. Thats exactly what I mean....he's a fraud, a fake. He can't sing, his dance moves, in hindsight, are goofy as hell and quite repetitive (isn't he still doin the same stuff?) Early in his adult career, he was saved by the awesome production by Q, and as soon as Q no longer produced his stuff...straight to the toilet it went.

More than anything I feel sad for him....not only because of his appearance and pedophile nature, but mainly because of his music. In history, he will not be the KoP to true music lovers, because it just doesn't stack up. I can think of 30 Prince songs on his first 5 albums, thats better all but maybe 3-4 of MJ''s songs. Thats a king? Listen to MJ's old stuff and P's back to back...MJ's sounds so dated, so lame, while some of P's stuff still sounds fresh and funky.

I liken it to when you bought into any other fad of the times. You think its cool when you first get into it, but later you ask yourself....."What the #$%^ was I thinking??" MJ is just like that.....

WTF was I thinking that a red leather jacket with 1000 rhinestones and zippers is cool?

WTF was I thinking that white socks and penny loafers work? (HE STILL WEARS THEM!!)

WTF was I thinking wearing high-water, nut-busters....so tight I had to peel them on/off?

WTF was I thinking wearing a Jherri curl? (I NEVER DID!!!!!)

WTF was I thinking buying into the media creation and human circus named Micheal Jackson??

OMFG, you have no idea what this sentence did to me. I'm sitting here drinking some water as I read and as I scan by this quote I practically spit on my monitor. LMFAO. Too funny.

Anyway, on the subject of MJ I think none of us here can deny that he is a talented person. I don't think he's more or less talented than Prince because frankly, I think the latest albums from P have sucked in comparison to what he used to crank out. Of course, these are just my personal opinions. If I had to name a King of Pop though, I'm not sure that my vote would go to either of them. MJ and P have had more fame because of good timing. They came at a time when people were ready for change, and at a time when the MTV phenomenom was booming. The 80's in general were a time in which the image of an artist thrived and mattered more than their music. Let's not forget all the hair bands.

Unfortunately, the mentality of many music listeners never really got out of that image based thinking which is why we have someone like Britney Spears hitting it big despite her awful voice and lack of originality. MJ and P both had their day if you ask me and it's about time to give it up. If you want to look at who has truly influenced modern music than you need to look at who influenced MJ and P. Then again I'm making an argument that is highly subjective considering that even those who influenced MJ and P also had influences, so the question comes down to how far back you actually want to look.

I know that P is a bit eccentric. He can be pretty complex and he won't let anyone in long enough to truly figure him out. Nothing about P though freaks me out. His style of clothing, his different looks, none of it for me was ever a turn off. Rock stars were wearing tight pants and make up long before P was, so his image doesn't come as a shocker to me. MJ however is a different story. The man doesn't even look like a man anymore. He looks like a character out of a Star Trek episode. Hell, even the Klingons don't look as weird as MJ. I never thought there was anything wrong with his looks to begin with which is why I don't understand his self mutilation.

He was a good looking black man, and if I can say that as a non black woman, then I really don't know what the hell MJ was thinking. I think he has some serious psychological issues and I don't doubt he did molest that boy and other children I'm sure. The man owns his own Disneyland, he prefers hanging out with kids, and he makes an effort to keep his prepubescent sounding voice. He has thrust himself into a face and body that are no longer his. Anyone who would bleack their skin, cut their nose off, and give themselves bulging fish eyes, obviously doesn't like themselves.

I feel sorry for MJ. I think his upbringing led him to the sad path he has taken. His whole family is seriously fucked up, and I don't consider even Janet to be the normal one since she herself has had surgery and makes an effort to get all sexed out. I think she should just pose for Playboy like her sister and get it out of her system. The irony is that I know religion played a big role in the Jackson family, and no doubt contributed to their mental illness. What's ironic about it you say? Well, that religion just happens to be the one P is currently all wet over.
I graduated the class of 1999 so it only makes sense..."The sky was all purple there were people running everywhere, trying to run from THE destruction, you know I didn't even care."

There's nothing worse than a bunch of bitter Prince fan accusing Michael of being weird! Detect the irony? LOL.

Perhaps you feel threatened that Michael is still a significant artist after thirty years, and Prince's reign only lasted 8 (1982-1989)

If you believe those allegations your seriously mentally challenged, everyone knows it was blatant fraude. The guy deserves respect for his impact on modern culture, something which Prince hasn't made in over a decade.

You can go on forever about what A loser MJ is. First there is the child molesting stuff, that is a whole other world in itself. Then add on him trying to get the heat off of himself by getting himself a beard..(Lisa Marie Presley) to try and protect himself. The fact that he is still a virgin. Then there is the plastic surgery disasters, him calling himself "The King of POP". How pathetic is it that he was the one that came up with that. betraying a friend like Paul macartney. Then he holds a tribute concert to himself. Very Sad.

Yeah, how does one know SO much about a person's private life? It amazes me how people on this site claim to know SOOO much about an artist that they don't even like!

The guy is gay. Who is he getting it from? The marriage was a fake. His kids are due to that artifical routine. Madonna has said that he refused her advances. never had any girlfriends. Never paid attention to groupies (according to Quincy jones). Definately likes little boys. Do the math.

There are a lot of people who "used" to love MJ. He has lost the love of millions of fans. I am one of those people who used to adore Michael Jackson.

MJ and Jacksons music was the first music that I ever bought with my own money, from the allowance that my parents gave me smile

A concert by the Jacksons, MJ and his brothers, was the first live show I went to with friends/cousins instead of being taken by my mother smile

I stopped being a Jackson fan because his creepiness was just too overwhelming. There is just too much about him that really is just awful. He obviously has severe psychological issues. Anybody who does what he did to his face has serious issues.

Plus, there was all of the nonsense with him having pajama parties with young boys, carrying Emmanuel Lewis around on his hip, carrying a chimp around like it was a baby, posing for a picture while sleeping in some kind of chamber, the phony marriages, the rumors that he bleaches his son's hair blond, the pay-off in the molestation case, etc. etc...

All of that put together is just too much for people to overlook. MJ's antics have cost him millions of fans.

i bought the MJ album 2day; mainly because it was going relatively cheap at a local record store. and i gotta say i was plesently suprised! i was excepting a total pile of shit worse than what was on the history cd (not including the greatests hits).

the album is by no means brilliant but its not 2 bad compared 2 other pop acts that have been in the charts recently.

but PRINCE STILL RULES ALL!!!!!

Invincible's best songs are Break of Dawn, Butterflies, and oohh I forgot the third but its in that vein. The others are ok but sound kinda dated. $30 Million dollars for that?! Oohhhhhkay! Still love him tho and his family despite the media dramas. Janet! Be Yourself and stop trying to act like a dizzy blond!

They should remix the whole albun with more soul and watch it fly like butterflies!

Many of you should read the 'Was Michael Jackson framed' article... It shows what an evil man Evan Chandler was and probably still is...

Personally I think "Invincible" is an OKAY album... I wasn't really satified when I first listened to it... But when I rated it, I found out that it was better than most of the albums I'd given 5 out of 5 stars... I really wanted to give it 3 stars, but following the logic I had used earlier I had to give it 5 stars... smile It probably deserves 4 stars though... wink My favorites are 'Whatever Happens', 'Threatened', 'You Rock My World' and 'Butterflies'...

I'm sorry but most of the young people today don't even know who Prince is...how can he still rule them all!...not to mention that he never ruled anybody! razz

And to those of you who talk with sarcasm about the King Of Pop...
What I know is that...if nobody breaks the record of 50 and something million albums, MJ is and will always be the KOP...and obviously Prince hasn't done such a thing!
That is just the truth!

Brother915

OK ONCE AGAIN THIS PRINCE VS. MJ THING IS STILL GOING ON EVERY SINCE SINCE 1984. OKAY, let me break this down for ya'll and then I through with this subject.....

* Point 1.....You really can't compare the two, because they are two different kind of artists. Even though, they're both eccentric(well I guess they have that in common). MJ- Michael prefers to perfect every piece of music and every thing on his records as best as he possibly can before he releases a record. This may take years. In other words, MJ wants a well polished record. LIL MAN of course is more prolific. But before all you P worshippers start saying RIGHT ON!!!!!Brother 9/15, quantity doesn't necessarily equate to QUALITY.....DIG!!!!! I'm going to leave that alone(LOL). P is a little more spontaneous, musically speaking, and it has been docemented brillantly throughout the years on his 30+ recordings.

* Point 2.....MJ is not an instrumentalist and P is a multi-instrumentalist. This should go without saying!!!!! People continue to beat this into the ground. MJ is an amazing singer, a good dancer, an underrated lyricist and producer to BOOT. P well he's a good producer, great musician, a good dancer, and a good songwriter, and a underrated vocalist. YES, like MJ,this is a part of his many talents that gets overlooked. When people mention elite vocalist they mention artists like Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. But P is a very strong vocalist with a stunning range....BASS vocals to high FALSETTO vocals.

* Point 3.....People diss MJ but how many will stand up and say that MJ was partially responsible for all the major commericial success of people(African-American artists) like PRINCE,TINA TURNER and LIONEL RICHIE. Like I said in an earlier post on this thread, the music industry was hurting in the early 80's. Records weren't moving at a quick pace. DISCO messed up a lot of careers(I love DISCO, but that's the truth). Record company received tons and tons of DISCO records that never sold(remember that big DISCO backlash in 1979 and 1980). By the time the 80's hit, everybody was in search of "the next big thing". Rap was beginning to make some big moves. You had artists like The Sugarhill Gang, Kurtis Blow, Sponnie Gee, and Grandmaster Flash And The Furious Five making innovating underground records that sold tons of copies, That was good, but overall the music industry was still hurting. New Wave was beginning to take off. But still "That Next Big Thing" was still unknown. Then enters.....Michael Jackson's 1982 landmark album "Thriller". I've already went into the hstory of the first few months of this album earlier. But still check the history of the music industry and do some research. Thriller turned the industry upside down. People were excited about buying music again. After those great videos of Beat It And Billie Jean(plus the Motown 25 special),people went out in droves to buy "Thriller" and in addition to buying Thriller, they'd buy one or two more albums. The cash registers at music retail outlets were singing again. MJ was experiencing commercial success never experienced ever by a black artist. After Thriller came, Lionel's "Can't Slow Down" came out (late 1983) which sold over 10 millions copies. Yes I know Prince's 1999 was selling too(and that it was released before MJ released "Thriller") But that album had nowhere near the commercial impact that Thriller had even though it sold many millions of copies. Yes you could say that if MJ hadn't released Thriler then 1999 by Prince would have been the success story of 1983(that or the Flashdance soundtrack...LOL). But still MJ's album "Thriller" set the tone for P's commercial success in 1984 with "Purple Rain". I know some of you will deny it until the cows come home.....BUT IT'S THE TRUTH. Lionel Richie even acknowledged it in 84' saying that MJ broke down doors for the commercial success of him, Prince and Tina Turner. After "Thriller" having 5 singles from a album make the top 10 on Billboard's pop singles chart and having 5 to 10 million in album sales became almost the norm. Once again....RESEARCH YOUR HISTORY and see if this is not correct!!!!!

* Point 4.....Both artists have something(or some things) that the other don't have. OKAY, so MJ doesn't have the musicianship that P has as a multi-instrumentalist. I read a post that said if MJ had P's skills as a musician, he'd be so arrogant or something to that effect. Well who knows. But I know this... MJ has something that P don't have..... popularity and album sales. How arrogant P would be if he had an album that has sold over 40 million copies(the best selling album ever). And don't tell me that you are certain that P doesn't care about album sales, because you don't know that for sure. It is very doubtful that P will ever obtain the level of popularity and commercial success that MJ has achieved. So there you have it . MJ has some things that P don't have and LIL MAN has some things that MJ don't have and Madonna has something both of them don't have .....A PAIR OF BREASTS!!!!! Peace and have a wonderful day....I'm done

* Brother 9/15 aka CR3

I love the both.

I think Prince is more talented musically talking...but MJ is a better dancer, perhaps a better singer !

SO IT SEEMS THAT PRINCE AND MJ'S POPULARITY WERE GREAT IN THE 80'S COS IT WAS SOMETHING NEW, AND BECUASE OF MTV BOOMING. NOW, WE HAVE ARTISTS LIKE BRITNEY WHO RELY ON LOOKS AND SLUTTY PERFORMANCES AND BOY BANDS WHO TALK ABOUT GIRLS IN ALL OF THEIR SONGS. RECENLTY,WE HAVE PPL. LIKE ALICIA KEYS,VANESSA CORTLAN,ETC; WHO CAN PLAY,SING,PRODUCE,PLAY THEIR OWN INSTRUMENTS. BUT NOBODY HAS CAUGHT THAT ATTENTION THAT MADE MJ FAMOUS.

WHAT WOULD SOMEONE DO TO HAVE FAME AND SUCCESS LIKE MJ?? I MEAN OBVIUOLSY THERE ARE GREATER SINGERS,DANCERS,SONG-WRITERS THAN MJ AND PRINCE. BUT THEY DONT CAPTURE THE WORLD'S ATTENTION LIKE MJ DID. HOW WOULD ONE DO THAT ESPECIALLY SINCE MTV IS NOT BOOMING LIKE IT DID IN THE 80'S,ETC.????

Michael Jackson would not be Michael Jackson without surgery !

Prince would not be Prince without his excentricities !

they're genius ! and Genius are never like the rest of US. it's like that !

See Picasso, Dali, Presley, Lennon, Marley, Hendrix

One thing very funny is that...INVINCIBLE is his BEST since a long Time...

Press critics besh him but Invincible rules by his own way..

to me it's better than Dangerous.

I hope you have all listen to it several times...

INVINCIBLE deserves attention by Prince's Fans. Sincerely.

Listen to heartbreaker, break of down, butterflies, prtivacy (which is a Killer) what ever hapens threatened...

MJ did a great job...he doesn't deserves all the critics...

Do you agree ?
