Live, baby, live!!! INxS

Weren't INXS a great band?!!! Recently came across their 1994 video compilation, The Great Video Experience, and while some of the videos look dated, most are very creative and compliment the music. They had some amazing albums back in the day (Shabooh Shoobah, Kick, X, Welcome To Wherever You Are)

For all you INXS fans here, please feel free to post thoughts about the band, your favourite videos, whether or not you got a chance to see them live, etc. I just felt we needed to mention this incredible band once more.

Where do you hail from, Joker?

INXS were a good band....I really enjoyed Michael Hutchence's voice and the band's blend of funk, new wave and rock when I was 12....

I still like em now...might even buy the latest compilation soon.

I am a HUGE INXS fan!!!!
I have moreorless everything they have ever done!! I even have thier Shine Like It Does Anthology Compilation Set and the various versions of the Definitive INXS sets, the last one being the 2CD set with the extra DVD!!!

My List of fave INXS songs:

Disappear
Need U Tonight(with Mediate)
The Devil Inside
Elegantly Wasted
The Gift
The Stairs
The Strangest Party
Long In Tooth
Deepest Red
Tight
Please(You Got That), with Ray Charles
And so many more!!

Michael Hutchence was such a brilliant performer!! My only regret was not ever seeing INXS live before he died sad sad sad sad sad sad sad I was devastated when I heard that Michael was dead!! He died, just as they were gonna start a new tour supporting the Elegantly Wasted CD, and I was planning on going 2 see them for the first time!!

I remember in 1997 when the Elegantly Wasted video came out the same time as The Holy River video and I can honestly say that the Elegantly Wasted video was far better than The Holy River!!!

I really wish there was more rare INXS stuff around, I try 2 look out for bootlegs of them but they are very few and far between, if any!!

Such a great band

The first song of theirs I ever heard and loved to death was on "The Lost Boys" soundtrack - "Laying Down The Law".

"Sweet blood on the razor, is it poetry or politics?"

Classic!* So sexy Michael was...

One of my all time favorite bands. I've seen them live 2 times with Michael and once without. They were one of the best live bands, well they still are as the band itself is intact but God do I miss Michael. I felt like I lost a member of the family when he died, his lyrics really speak to my heart and he was truly a wonderful person.

I don't think I could name a favorite album though, I love so many of them. But Welcome to Wherever you Are and Elegantly Wasted would both be high on the list. And the live DVD Live Baby Live is AWESOME, they just didn't MISS a beat with that show.

I seen them for the first time on the Full Moon Dirty Hearts tour and the band just walked out with the houselights still on and started playing "Taste it" and Michael just walked out and started singing. Wow, to say he walked is such an understatement, that man was so fucking sexy he just REEKED sex. The second time I seen them was on the Elegantly Wasted tour 4 months to the DAY that he died. I was in the second row and walked out with a guitar pick from Tim, a drumstick from Jon and a water bottle from Garry. I would have NEVER dreamed that it would have been the last time I would ever see Michael. sad

I seen them a couple years ago when they toured with new singer Jon Stevens. They sounded amazing and Jon did a great job handling the vocals. They did a part in the show where they showed clips of Michael on the big screen while they did Never Tear Us Apart. Not too many dry eyes after that. My neices and I hung out after the show to say hi to them and ended up spending a few hours with them. We went out for drinks and played pool then back to their hotel to drink some more. I was talking to Tim and he asked me who else do I like besides them and I told him Prince and Wendy and Lisa. He was like "I seen Prince in NY in 93 and he was one of the best." And he said "I fucking LOVE Wendy and Lisa, they don't get enough credit they are BRILLIANT." Who was I to argue that??? lol

They are some of the coolest people I'd ever met. I really do miss Michael and hurt for the one's he left behind, they sure miss him.

Thank you for starting this thread, they deserve more attention than they get. worship
