What are the WORST ALBUMS you've bought this year so far?

For me I've really only bought two big stinkers:

Courtney Love - America's Sweetheart - can she do anything besides scream and rant?

Melissa Auf Der Maur - Auf Der Maur - mostly generic goth rock, the type of crap that Evil White Male would probably love.

.

I hope not. What were you expecting when you bought her album - some Sade quiet storm shit? lol

No, but compared to Live Through This and Celebrity Skin, this album has very little good singing from her.....I enjoy a good scream every now and then, but the whole album is lacking in decent melodies.

I really wanted to hate that album, but the facts got in the way - I think it's an amazingly strong, well-written record.

Really?! Which album am I listening to then? I don't hear anything amazingly strong so far....then again I've only had it for a day....maybe I should let it grow on me....but it's hard when it sounds so bad (at least so far).

(Shrug) - to each their own, I suppose. This was not an album that grew on me - I enjoyed it immediately. I suppose I found it refreshing to an extent because I really hadn't listened to any guitar-oriented rock in quite some time. The performances are fairly raw (particularly the vocals) but I have no problems with that, and I'll certainly stand by the songs on the record for the most part. It's not perfect, but I do think it's the best batch of songs she's produced to date.

MrDespues, we are in COMPLETE AGREEMENT on this one...Liz Phair should be hung from her toenails and gutted with a fish-hook for releasing that pile of Avril Lavigne crap. It's incomprehensible to me that this is the same woman who was responsible for Exile In Guyville.
