Which version of Jealous Guy do you like better? John Lennon's or Donny Hathaway's? I only recently heard Donny Hathaway's version and I think it is incredibly beautiful. I'm probably a little sick of Lennon's version so I ain't really being objective but I think Donny Hathaway did a great version.


This kind of reminds me that covering songs used to be an art. What happened to great cover songs? An example would be Aretha Franklin. She could cover anything and make it her own. Today it seems like artists just cover songs to try to get a quick hit.

Haven't heard Lennon's version, but I don't think Donny can do a bad version of anything. He covered "What's Going On" wonderfully for crike's sake!!

It happens. The Beatles and their members aren't that influential in my own neck of the woods. I haven't heard either version to tell the truth.
