Thank you for the detailed news. The Tracklist and the release date were posted by me here a few weeks ago but that didn´t seem to raise much interest .
Hmmmmm..... She is one of my favorite artists. What strikes me about the new tracklist is the more than half of the songs begin with "The". Did she hear too many "The" Bands?

I know a lot of people were lost with her delving into electronica but I wasn't. I LOVED the mixture of electronic and organic elements. However, this sounds like it might rock. I'm ready for it. This woman can't release enough music as far as I'm concerned.
And in preperation, I'm listening to the B-Sides and guest spots someone sent me 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

When i first heard the new album i was a little disappointed but it is slowly growing on me now. I really like the last 5 tracks especially "Its you".
But I still think that the songwriting this time is not as fresh or interesting as before on fantastic albums like "To bring you my love", "Is this desire?" or her best album "Stories.....". I think the artwork and the title "uh huh her" are not really masterpieces this time. Also its quite a short album at only 41 minutes.

Yeah her performance was good.....but as far as her Cd I'm not likin' it as much as her others....so far. I guess I need to give it some time, since I just got it. Four strings across the bridge. Ready to carry me over,Over the quavers, drunk in the bars,Out of the realm of the orchestra

I´d say start with "Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea". It is her most commercial work but in her case thats not a bad thing. There is not one bad song on it and Thom Yorke from Radiohead appears on it too.
After that I would buy "To bring you my love".Some say it is one of the best records of the 90s .

This album is a grower for me. Unlike Desire and Stories, I wasn't bowled over completely by the album on first listen. But the More I listen to Uh Huh, the more I'm loving it.
It sounds demoish in spots and some of the album is predictably her but other spots shine like the sun. Life and death of Mr. Badmouth - I think this track is outstanding. Definitely the best of the predictable tracks. But I love the different elements in the song that counter any predictability. The combination of the instrument at 1:02 and the simultaneous backround vox add a lot to this song as it repeats throughout. Definitely one of my favorites. Shame - I thought it was interesting that she used the same drum programming from Kamikazee. Gave it a different feel. Who The Fuck - Not sure what I think about this one. I love aggressive PJ and I loved the way some of the Desert Sessions sounded like she recorded it in a cave or a bathroom but the way in which this was recorded kinda detracts from it a bit for me. This song kinda lacks compared to some older tracks like Rid of Me, Legs or 2 Bring U My Love. I think this will grow on me. I really do like the ending. Pocket Knife-Didn't like this on first listen. Not at all. However as I'm listening to the album I really am appreciating this song, especially in conjunction with The Letter. Letter-Another predictable track but I like it much better in combination with the other tracks. I wasn't too sure about it as a single. Works better with the other tracks IMO. Slow Drug-I LOVE THIS SONG! WOW!!!!! I think this is my favorite song. There is magic in this song. So simple but it hits like a hurricane. The way in which she found her strength in subtletly is what made me love Desire and Stories so much. There is no doubt that she has a killer voice. Her voice can be like a runaway train and I love the instanity she creates with it. However when she's toned down like this and focused, it just amazes me because she is JUST as powerful when she comes on like a quiet storm. I.....love.....this.....song! No Child of Mine - I wish this were longer. Cat on the Wall - This is my least favorite track. It kinda just meanders along without a solid purpose. You Come Through - I really love this song. Kinda reminds me of something Bjork would do. It's You - Kinda Bland. End - I do like that she included snippets of little instrumentals. Desperate Kingdom of Love - Hands down my other favorite on this album. I'm really tied between this song and Slow Drug as my favorite. I really couldn't choose which one I love more. Another brilliant example of her subtle strength. She really bolws me over with tracks like this. Darker Days of Me & Him - I really expected something musically different from the song based on the title. I guess this song accomplishes what it set out to do. When i listen to it, it leaves me feeling kinda empty and hollow. I don't like that this song is the last track. I think that I might just switch this somewhere else in the line up when I make my CD copy. Overall I'm really very pleased with it. I don't think it's as strong or cohesive as Desire or Stories but there is enough to chew on to keep me satisfied. I can't wait for the B-Sides to roll out on this one. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

This is simply an evil question. No one album encompasses all that this woman is on an artistic level. I would have to recommend "Dance Hall at Louse Point". She captures a lot of variation on that album that will help someone to accept any direction she went in on any of the other albums. "Is this Desire" is still my favorite and for me, Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea is practically on equal par as "Desire". This album has some incredible songs on it. Don't sleep on this shit. PJ Harvey rules! She can't release enough music as far as I'm concerned 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740
