u said once people find out MJ doesn have the disease
alot of people will stop hating him alot of BLACK people well how the hells that gonna happen unless he does what i suggested in my previous post i know the result could be ridicule from the media but surely it can only do more good then harm the situation cant be any worse then it is right now can it so whats he got to lose going on camera to expose the vitiligo the fact that he could prolly get a few thousand people to believe he has the disease that didnt before would be great for him i think

I think you two are missing a big old part about the vitiligo issue with regard to MJ's perception among many black Americans.
It isn't that we don't sympathize with someone having vitiligo or have this "need" to think him weird. When he said on that Oprah interview that vitiligo was the cause for his skin coloring, folks were open to believing it. Blacks are fairly familiar with vitiligo. But, Michael's visual transformation from black man to white woman has involved more than the loss of his color. Let's not forget the surgery: We're talking a "de-Negroidization," if you will, of his features. Together, the skin color and changes to his face have a cumulative effect and impression. If MJ were simply lighter but looked like the dude on "Off the Wall," there'd be less of an issue. And, as I've said before, MJ lies fairly frequently about the degree to which he's undergone plastic surgery, creating an impression that he either believes having only 2 operations on his nose OR that he lies and really wants to look the way he does. And I think it's understandable, given his successful efforts to create a spectacle out of himself, that many blacks believe the latter and that he suffers from self-hatred.

[This message was edited Sun Apr 25 12:17:48 2004 by VoicesCarry] Those are skin lighteners and they are temporary geez They are not merely "lighteners", they are skin bleaching agents. Which you claimed did not exist. And there are permanent lightening techniques, albeit ones that require maintenance. They work by allosterically inhibiting the synthesis of enzymes responsible for melanin (pigment) mass-production. Because skin exfoliates, you usually have to apply the shit once every 48 hours or so. These are topical treatments. There are no systemic (internal) treatments, if that is what you meant. There's no bleaching pill, naturally. Whatever Lil' Kim did to her face did not "wear off" - it is permanent. [This message was edited Sun Apr 25 14:16:55 2004 by VoicesCarry]

[This message was edited Sun Apr 25 12:17:48 2004 by VoicesCarry] Those are skin lighteners and they are temporary geez Alphaquin HP Hydroquinone is applied to the skin to lighten areas that have darkened (hyperpigmented). Alphaquin HP Hydroquinone will work best if you avoid excessive exposure to sunlight and wear sunscreens and protective clothing; some Alphaquin HP Hydroquinone products contain sunscreens and other cosmetic ingredients. Some products are available only with a prescription. Generic Alphaquin HP Hydroquinone skin cream, gel, or solution is available. Mostly in use of dermatology i used this to get rid of the dark marks from popping my pimples it doesn't alter your entire skin color Skin whitening products have become increasingly popular in the past few years. The main purpose for skin lightening products is to lighten the skin temporarly as well as even out skin tone or to treat pigmentation disorders such as freckles, pregnancy marks and age spots. The most successful recent and natural skin whitening agents are: Arbutin, Vitamin C, Kojic Acid, Licorice Extract, Burner Root Extract, Scutellaria Extract, Mulberry, Melanostat, these agents are all Tyrosinase inhibitors, they inactivate Tyrosinase ( the enzyme responsible for skin darkening) by chelating with its vital cooper ion and suppressing the tautomerization from Dopachrome to DHICA, L- Ascorbic Acid and its derivatives which include L- Ascorbic Acid ( Vitamin C), act as reducing agents on melanin intermediates, thus blocking the oxidation chain reaction at various points from tyrosine /DOPA to melanin. Melanostat is a new skin bleaching agent that act on the Tyrosinase Enzyme AND directly on the melanin cell receptors (the only skin bleaching agent act directly on melanin cells) and deactivate those cells, this process called melanogenesis which is an important part in skin tanning, once its deactivated, it will help the skin to get lighter. Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A) are skin exfoliator, help in renewing the skin and gives a new lighter skin. these Are skin lightening techniques they are not able to make a black person porcelain white and yes Lil Kim does use these and alot of other black celebreties but the key its NOT PERMANENT! and it can't lighten your skin porcelain white they are used to lighten skin temporarly and to get rid of markings such as freckles on your face What MJ used Was a Depigmentation Acid monobenzylether to destroy the blotches on his skin speeding up the process of the disease THE KNOWLEDGE IS OUT THERE u have to make an effort to look for it
