I like "The Best Things In Life Are Free", but the remixes are far superior to the anemic album version.

Although I am such a big Jam and Lewis fan, this soundtrack was ok IMO. My favorite cuts were "Ice Cream Dream", "The best things in life" "Money can't buy you love" and "new style".
The Boomerang sntrk was better during summer 92.

I was gonna make a thread for "Let's Just Run Away" by Johnny Gill. I want to know what that sample is... This weekend I heard the same sample in a Madlib beat called "Lost Lust".

Gotta agree with PrettyMan on this. 'Boomerang' kills 'Mo Money'!
"End of the Road"
"Love shoulda brought you home"
"There You Go"
"I'll Give You My Heart"
"I'd Die Without You"

nod

The late 80's and early 90's gave us some great soundtracks, like the two already mentioned, "School Daze", "Boyz 'N the Hood", "New Jack City", "Graffiti Bridge", etc.
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

I agree that "Mo money" is alot better than the "Boomerang" soundtrack, but I love the 4 memtioned in above quote plus Grace Jones' "7 day weekend" and "Reversal of a dog" with great vocals by Damien! (of Newjack duo "Damien Dame")

"Mo' money" is my fav soundtrack ever (with "Grafitti bridge") and the movie was brilliant too! Can't forget "Forever love" by Color me badd, that song is beutifull (in a corny way)! Also as odd as it is on the Cd, I like the heavy metalish "Brother will" on the Mo money soundtrack (its the last cut)! Look who's on guiter and co-producing- Jellybean johnson!

"White men can't jump" is also another stella soundtrack, particually the title cut, anyway, back in summer of '92, it was Mo money vs Boomerang and Boomerang won, but to me,Mo' money is a better soundtrack, but boomerang soundtrack is still good!

By the way, "the best things in life are free" is one of my fav music video's ever, with no janet or Luther, but instead the stars of Mo' money damon and marlon, a great summer jam video!

My faves from the soundtrack are:

I Adore You - Caron Wheeler (love her voice)
Ice Cream Dream - MC Lyte
Let's Get Together(So Groovy Now) - Krush

I don't have the original soundtrack, but a dubbed version. I should check to make sure all the songs are on there, cuz a couple of them aren't familiar to me.

OK the credits for "Let's Just Run Away" are this:
"Produced by Lance Alexander, prot t., Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis."
The writing credit for the song goes to:
"(Lance Alexander, Tony Tolbert, James Harris III, Terry Lewis, George Duke)"
which is the same as the producers/lyricists for the song plus what I expect to be the writer of the sampled song.

So, what George Duke-penned song is sampled for "Let's Just Run Away" by Johnny Gill?

Anyone?
