Deee-Lite's DEWDROPS IN THE GARDEN...An Underappreciated Classic?

It's a shame Deee-Lite was considered by most to be a one-hit wonder band, because they were responsible for three truly funky and beautiful albums...I used to date someone who said "I judge music as records that came out before 'World Clique' and records that came out after it"...I don't know if I'd go THAT far, but there's a hugely special place in my heart for Lady Miss Kier and the boys, and I find it especially sad that their final album (thus far, anyway), "Dewdrops In The Garden", sunk to relative obscurity and the band's break-up.

SOOO many wonderful songs on here - "Say Ahhh", "Bring Me Your Love", "Party Happening People", "Call Me" - and Kier's voice never sounded better.

I listened to this one for the first time in ages on Monday, and it kicked my butt from Chicago to Indianapolis and back again. I had completely forgotten just how much I love this album.

Any other fans of this one?

I need somebody to hold me tight
I need somebody to treat me right...

Hmmm... I miss DeeeLite. No I would say their Sampeldelic cd is under appreciated. Man the trip-hop remix of I had a dream I fell through a hole in the Ozone Layer. Love it. Love it.

Truly a Classic album from start to finish.

much to the much is going on within the layers of beautiful-chaos-bounciful-beats.

this album could very well be released today and still have headz shocked at how f'n tight it was.

perhaps, like so many other albums:

this one just may have come along just ahead of the curve---but at a perfect time for those that grooved-anew.

who knows why everyone on the planet didn't love this album as much as i still do?

---but i still do.

i wanna know what ever happened to LMK's solo album?

i had heard about it coming out for something like 5 years. coming soon, comming soon...delays, delays, delays---then, the last 2 years...no word at all. how in the F can this be?

WHERE IS IT????WHERE IS IT?????WHERE IS IT????

AAGHHHHH!!!

ok... i feel better now

wink

Not even sure what to add to this thread.....except...

worship thumbs up! dancing jig starstarstarstarstar

I rememeber seeing them for the 2nd time when this album came out. I at one point was considering getting a tattoo of Deee-Lite. redface "Bring Me Your Love", "Somebody", "Call Me","Sampladelic" (wish that song was 10 mins long! dancing jig) etc...love every track. Even the two "hidden" ones. lol "Call Me" was my voice message for a while there too. Still one of my top 3 favourite groups. Wish they'd rejoin. sad

music OOH YEAH!! Love Deee-lite ..... this album brings back great memories and still gets much play from me. Definately a classic.

You can move
You can groove
You can mind melt
Perpetual bloom
You can sing on the curves
Of all minds perfect rings
Come around come around
I hear what you say come around
The temple of my mind
So clear so clear
Resounding no fear

kiss Amy xx
