In all fairness, the lighting and exposure in those shots can also make him look alot brighter and darker. I'm not questioning that he had his skin altered at some point, but I think the different ways those pics were shot made it look more drastic than it really was.

Dunno, I've always felt the amount of plastic surgery this guy has gone through has been widely exaggerated. It's just that he had a few heavy alterations done to himself in the 80s and his face just probably naturally aged differently than he would have wished in the first place. Like he really has turned out like his father with the very rectangular face structure - so instead of accepting that his appearance isn't as androgynous as he'd wish he continues to use too much make-up with all kinds ridiculous shades.

Of course, the nose is totally butchered. But that could be just the fact that it was so heavily altered in the first place and didn't really heal correctly or something. He was still in his mid-20s when he had those two major operations done so quite obviously your face structure is still going to change in the coming years. Hence the disaster?

i think his eyes, lips and cheekbones are pretty much the same. His eyebrows change with every album but really that doesn't count, since when was a bit of plucking considered a big deal ?
Personally, i think he aged well, i think hes much more attractive now then back in the pretty boy days but thats just me and my weird tastes, also with publicity pictures mj wears so much makeup, and he changes his makeup quite frequently so that really emphasises the differences plus most pictures are touched up a lo. I think during the Martin Bashir interview he looked better than he had done for a long time(when he was dressed all in black, climbing trees etc).

I don't however think that's very fair. The nose wouldn't be that big on an adult's face. The facial expression is of a young kid's and whoever said he would have had a moustache like that?

His face looks 'wider' cause he got chin and jaw inplnants in 89/90. When it comes to MJ's face I know my shit. The first of the two pics must be from around 86 cause he's got his BAD nose but he's still dark.
