Britney's controversial new video: "Everytime" (scuicide?)

Has Britney Gone Too Far This Time?
Britney Spears' record label thinks it's edgy, but a suicide scene in her new video will no doubt prove quite controversial. The pop tart has decided to keep the questionable incident in "Everytime," which laments her relationship with former love Justin Timberlake.

Shot by fashion photographer David LaChapelle, the video stars Stephen Dorff in the Timberlake role. He gets to rip the covers off magazines featuring Britney's face. Then a close-up shows Britney dead in a bathtub. It was widely reported last month that Britney would cut the scene, a move that was applauded by suicide prevention groups. "The sad thing is, her label Jive is bragging about it because they think it is so edgy," an unnamed insider told New York Post gossip columnist Richard Johnson.

If that isn't edgy enough for you, try this: Britney is shopping a reality TV series that would feature backstage footage of her life on tour. Called "OnTourage," it would follow the lives of Spears and her fellow dancers on the upcoming European leg of the Onyx Hotel Tour, her steamy concert series, reports Reuters. Britney would narrate as she chronicled the adventures of her dancers, bodyguards, and managers from the tour bus to the stage

i didnt like the song. The video is hardly controversial, more personal than anything.
not a good choice for a single though.

I don't really see how the other character is supposed to be Justin Timberlake at all. I sorta think the LYRICS on the song hint at their relationship but this video doesn't really depict Justin Timberlake in its imagery.

Not sure why (or how? confuse) she kills herself in the video, except that she sees blood then is in some sort of next dimension as Spirit Britters?

That being said, it demands a second watch, which is more depth than you can expect for alot of videos.

Madonna's Drowned World video was a much better video... and it looks more like she hit her head on the bathtub than commited sucide
You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

Yeah haha that's what I saw too! But I convinced myself that it had something to do with watching the video on a digitally-scrambled, 1inch x 1inch window, dialup video stream.
