well of course Usher is outshone by HER(Beyonce) in her own video, her daddy ain't letting nobody upstage her in her own shit....he didn't even let all them other chicks do it in Destiny's Child...as far as Usher I don't think he is that musically inclined to be making such statements pertaining to himself,he his hardly ingenius....but there is a flip side,I do enjoy him more then these other cats,Justin,Genuine,etc...maybe it's because everytime I see him my GAYdar spins off the meter....he do look kinda yummy on the cover of the new Teen People mag? but then again thats a whole other thread...so I guess I have a biased opinion...I enjoy him visually and a little musically...but wouldn't invest the 15$ to cop his CD.

I actually liked usher before the new cd came out. i watched a few interviews in the uk and he is so big headed anyone would think hes some mega super artist but hes just a regular RnB/pop guy who can sometimes dance. I don't like the way Usher somehow assumes that hes superior to justin when its blatent that they are both amatuers wih good writers and producers, in fact in terms of vocal abillities i prefer justin but i think ushers songs are *usually* better written.
I think Usher even referred to himself as a 'Picasso of our time' in one interview, i really hope i heard that wrong lol the new album isn't even all that, he ripped 'the beautifal ones' and didnt even list it as a sample ! I was going to go see him in concert because i like his dancing but his recent interviews have really put me off him, i dont even listen to his music anymore lol

He ripped off Prince and Prince don't know about it? Somebody please write to Prince and tell him abou this! Quickly, quickly!

...same goes for other artists who proclaim the same thing...if Usher is supposedly ripping Justin Timberfake, it's funny that some still claim he's the next best thing to Michael Jackson!!! nuts Usher's been around way before Justin, while Justin tries to sound like everyone else in the R&B world. So if Justin is that freakin' good to some people, then so is USHER.

Apparently these folks don't know that Usher has been recording since 1993. He has indeed been around waaaaay longer than Justin. While Justin was acting like a "white boy" on the Mickey Mouse Club Usher was already doing his thing with the big boys. Usher indeed has talent however he needs to be careful not to get so big headed. I don't like the way he used his relationship with Chili to get this record out. I know that he writes his own songs, but let's see him rip up a guitar or some keys or even drums like Prince rips it. We know where the true talent lies. Usher could learn a few things from Prince that is for sure.

Yes his album starts off good...then kinda sounds like every other R&B cat out there. Janet's is much more broad and funky.
Usher is nice but he's not really no different than Craig David, Avant, Carl Thomas, Case, Musiq (although Musiq can sing much better)....

Musiq cannot sing better, have u heard his weak ass out of breath vocals on ONA?

Yeah, I've seen Justin country singing on star search when he was a boy trying to get up and coming, and now all of a sudden he's supposedely the best in R&B as if he's been around that long & got that much skill?!!! NOW that's WHAT'S (WTF???!!!!!)

This guy defines male vanity:

"I'm so sexy! Fuck me! FUCK ME!"

PS: Here's Usher's favourite pose. I call it the "whoops, you caught me removing my shirt!". 99.9% of his publicity shots look like this. Apparently he likes to do it live, too. Must distract from the shitty music.

Usher is a pop star so don't knock him for not being a "real" musician. Apples and oranges. For what he is, he's damn good. The best male pop star going now IMO. I wasn't a big fan before "Confessions" but he won me over with that album. Best pop album of the 21st century. Looking at the record sales I know I'm not alone in feeling this way. Anytime someone makes it to the top, people are there trying to knock them off. Shame. Usher did well for himself this time out and should feel good about himself. Props son. Keep doin your thing. Fuck the haters.

Unlikely. He has a six pack. And that's all that matters. He is SuperUsher.

/can't wait until they do a Behind The Music on him 10 years from now and he's an alcoholic with a pot belly

I can't believe the tide against Usher, wow.

I wasn't a big fan in the past, but a couple of songs from his 8701 album kept tugging at my ear and this new album Confessions is really good.

Also, he's a very smooth, rhythmic dancer with lots of attitude and confidence. I love that. It's called presence.

Just like Beyonce hss her own unique vocal tremor, Usher has a very unique vocal delivery -- and its very energetic , even on slow songs.

I bought the album and there no way I can say anything negative about it.

well, the only negative is yes, he ripped off Beautiful ONes.

I read here that he did and then I surfed the songs when I got the disk and was spellbound ... I can't even really listen to Do It To Me without feeling horrified that he stole this music without giving proper credit. I remember how beautiful and unique this music is and he shouldn't be given credit for this. It's exactly the beautiful ones. How is this legal?

Prince really should sue just so these kiddies know he came up with that hypnotic music first. I'm so surprised Usher got away with this. That's a crime. It's bullsh*t.

I used to dig Usher and I won't take anything away from his songs. I think he's talented but I don't like his attitude as of late. He's just becoming too arrogant for me and when I hear him talk, I get so turned off by him. I hope he calms it down before something or someone does it for him.

Usher is just the majority of modern R&B/Pop artists...he puts out a decent club or ballad song every few years and, backed by ridiculous amounts of industry promotion, he seems to be hotter than he actually is (especially when you buy a CD and are quick to be disappointed). Whatever happened to people making a CD with GOOD music on it, one that you don't have to skip around on? This is one of the reasons I love Prince so much. His albums all have a unique vibe and flow that keeps you listening (and even if a song is weird, it's usually entertaining wink ). Usher can dance, I'll give him that, but his moves aren't anything original. It's just kinda lame to see how people egos get so over-inflated when they aren't really doing much. Now Prince, Prince got ego problems, but at least he plays his own instruments, sings, dances, writes his own music, you name it. Usher even shits on Justin Timberlake for jocking his style, which is pretty funny considering people like Prince, James Brown, Michael Jackson, etc. originated his "style" before the kid was even born. It's a silly business.
