What was the first song Janet dropped on SNL last night? That shit was tight!
However, it's a shame that she insists on singing like a little girl in her first choral recital. Where's the beef? She was singing so low that I couldn't even catch the title of the song. The bass riff is bumpin'. I've only heard it sped up in two or three of my house records from the early 90's. Once it was even used by Future Sound Of London. Where is that bassline from anyway? Commodores and Herbie Hancock instantly come to mind but I don't have the energy to dig thorugh my collection right now. Also dug the warm uplifting synths that washed over Janet's voice during the chorus. Good track. What was it? [This message was edited Sun Apr 11 8:57:18 2004 by marcdeondotcom]

The track is “All Nite (Don’t Stop)” and it does sample Herbie Hankock. It’s off her latest album, “Damita Jo”. Might have heard about it (then again, since radio ain’t playing anything by her, maybe not). She’s been doing it live where she goes (so far only GMA, the Ryan Seacrest show and of course SNL). It’s supposed to her next single and most people agree it’s if not the strongest song on the album at least one of them, even if you hate the album. While the live version is good the studio version is much stronger.

VinnyM27. Thanks for the info Avah12, I agree. It was all moves and hair... I couldn't even read her lips. [This message was edited Sun Apr 11 23:22:54 2004 by marcdeondotcom]

Someone posted a thread about the difference between Janet and Britney, and now it's official: the only difference is one's white and one's black. They both lip synched on SNL. I'm losing respect for that show, it used to be against their policy to lip-synch. Now since Britney's done it on there, everybody's gonna start doing it. Used to be a great forum to see real singers... they're losing their credibility now. Lovesexy Funkateer
