no...it's effect. janet was not affected, she had an effect.

Affect and effect have no senses in common. As a verb affect is most commonly used in the sense of “to influence” (how smoking affects health). Effect means “to bring about".

I feel ya, Sassy but I am so glad this happened. Women are not sex objects. Plus, I don't want to sit and watch t.v. with my nine year old and titties and ass pop up on the screen.

i agree with that. ads should be a little more appropriate. the problem i have with this is that it is described as a lingerie fashion show. people know what the content of the show will be therefore have the opportunity to avoid watching.

That is very true but Victoria Secret objectifies women which is the greater problem.

no...it's effect. both could apply but effect is the proper word when discussing influence. janet was not affected, she influenced a group which then had an effect.

So, she "affected" it.

You know: You're right: Effect -- as in, "He effected change" -- is acceptable.

Though, your example uses "effect" as a noun, not the verb usage of your title.

Pay me no mind, amigo.
