Madonna Song-Of-The-Day: "Beautiful Stranger" (Madonnashots) Haven't we met You're some kind of beautiful stranger You could be good for me I've had the taste for danger If I'm smart then I'll run away But I'm not so I guess I'll stay Heaven forbid I'll take my chance on a beautiful stranger I looked into your eyes And my world came tumbling down You're the devil in disguise That's why I'm singing this song (Madonnalicious) To know you is to love you You're everywhere I go And everybody knows To love you is to be part of you I've paid for you with tears And swallowed all my pride Da-da-da-dum da-dum da-dum da da da-da dum Beautiful stranger (Platon's Page)

not a favorite. in fact, dare i say that i don't like it much. and i'm a pretty big Madonna fan.
first, the music sounds like something from the ROL maxi-single. second, the lyrics have to be just about some of the must inane that she's ever written. yeah, it's fun and catchy and enjoyable enough while it's playing, but this isn't the kind of stuff that keeps me interested in her.

I wouldn't mind talking about William Orbit's production which I feel was simultaneously modern and throwback. He re-used the drum programming on "Amazing" (2000 Music album track).
We could even talk about the amazing visuals from the video by director Brett Rhatner. Whatever you like! (Madonnashots)

i'm not crazy about the video either. but then i haven't really been crazy about any of her videos except for Don't Tell Me for many years now. The last ones I really liked were for the STR songs.
i think the thing i like least about them lately is that when she's dancing, it's all kind of herky-jerky looking... like Elaine from Seinfeld and her "little kicks" and thumb-pointing dance. choreography would be nice.

CinisterCee said: Love this song.It has a cool, carefree 60s' feel to it,and after the emotionally "heavy" ROL project,it was nice to have a fun single from her again. And I love her performance of this song on the Drowned World Tour. The video is cool too. [This message was edited Wed Apr 14 2:57:04 2004 by DavidEye]

Cool song. The guitars are great. The flute and the harpsichord make it that much better.
I really dig Orbit's production style.
