I fixed DamitaJo for you, Janet. No need to thank me.

my boyfriend and i rearranged DamitaJo a bit, and the results are fantastic. actually makes the album worth listening to, if not good.

02. Damita Jo (2:45)
03. Sexhibition (2:29)
04. Strawberry Bounce (3:10)
05. Just A Little While (4:11)
06. My Baby (4:17)
07. Spending Time With You (4:14)
08. Island Life (3:53)
09. All Nite [Don't Stop] -- extended (4:35)
10. R&B Junkie (3:10)
11. I Want You (3:55)
12. Like You Don't Love Me (3:11)
13. Thinkin' Bout My Ex (4:33)
14. Warmth (3:44)
15. Moist (4:54)
16. Truly (3:58)
17. Slolove (3:44)
18. Just A Little While -- remix (4:10)

That's at least 21 songs too long, but other than that good work.

actually, flipping the position of where i put the original Just A Little While and the remix works even better. the remix goes very well with the first sequence of tracks.

this flows so much better without all of those idiotic interludes.

For someone that hates Janet, you sure put some thought into that! I would have kept the the talking after "Like You Don't Love Me", which is very cute. I would give that verison of "Damita Jo" a listen.

Every album since Control has had interludes... it wouldn't be a janet album without them. granted some of them are stupid but it would be like prince not playing almost everysingle instrumnet on the album if they weren't there.

the thing is, most of the interludes on her old albums seemed like actual intros to the songs, or were incidental snippets of music that made sense in the context of the album. the interludes on this album are just nonsense.

i think we've all seen this past week that janet is a TERRIBLE interviewee (Letterman, BET, GMA, etc). you'd think she could actually muster up something interesting to say in the "interview" snippets on her own album. i guess not. biggrin

as i've said before, i don't hate Janet. i like her a lot. making this version of DamitaJo was a labor of love, in trying to get me to actually like the album. and it succeeded.

The talking after LYDLM is on the same track; it isn't it's own interlude so it's still there.

i took that one off as well, because it's repeated at the end of Could This Be Love, closing the album.

i took off almost ALL of the speaking interludes, whether they were their own track or tacked on to the ends of others. the only ones i left were the ones that seemed like your average janet interludes, very small spoken parts that seem to lead from one track to the other (like the one at the end of "Damita Jo" and a few others like that).

i left it on Could This Be Love because even though it's really really dorky (the way she says "damita jo"), she says "thank you" afterword and it makes a nice close to the disc. more importantly, it would have been too difficult to take it off of that track, so it stays on Could This Be Love, but was removed from LYDLM.

Someone (not me, too lazy) should collate all the best Speakerboxx/Love Below tracks as well and remove the interludes. Lord knows there's too many on that patchy double album. Would work great as a single album though.

ok...I see the problem right off the bat. TOO many fucking songs...some of them have to suck.

I was listening to keith sweat the other day....I think there's only 8-9 tracks on that cd. I hate the filler tracks they throw in.

What is "Could This Be Love"? I also felt that the "Damita Jo" interlude realy felt like a way to close the album. It's very surprising (akward) that it's right in the middle.

Slightly off topic, could "Like You Don't Love Me" be a response to Justin's "Like I Love You". They sound nothing alike but and quite frankly I don't even remember the lyrics to Justin's song but think about it...if she did him, she's saying he sucked in bed and that he only wanted her becuase she was "Janet". And I think it's a Jimmy/Terry song, which means they might have done it near the end. Possible....
