Color Me Badd I've noticed we've been talking about a lot of white chocolate acts lately. CMB came to mind. Remember "I Adore Mi Amor," "Sex U Up" (to the... tick tock ya don't stop!) That was hot. My personal favorite by them was "All For Love"! It has this cotton candy, carousel vibe to it. I wore that cassette tape out in the 90s. What's your favorite CMB songs?
Is calling an artist or artists "white chocolate" considered derogatory? I hope I'm not offending anybody. [This message was edited Mon Apr 5 3:02:05 2004 by JANFAN4L]

Color Me Badd was good white chocolate, in my opinion. My fave track was Sex U Up until our local radio stations played it out! And I think JC formerly of *nsync is good white chocolate too (though I haven't heard his album yet, just the single from "Drumline".
This is off topic, but who sang the song that had Ingrid Chavez doing backing vocals and then she got pissed or someone got pissed and they re-edited it with some other chick? Thanks! "She made me glad to be a man"

I like JC's new song "All Day Long I Dream About Sex" it has this new wave-ish flavor (makes me just wanna slip on some legwarmers and drink some TAB! ). The breakdown reminds me of some lite, Kraftwerk-esque drum programming. "100 Ways" is cool, too. [This message was edited Mon Apr 5 6:43:02 2004 by JANFAN4L]

I have not heard their other albums but their first ("C.m.b") was cool! Loved "All for love", "Heartbreaker", "I adore..." and "your da onei onea love"! Their harmonies were gorgeous sounding! Anyone noticed the slight difference between the album version of "I wanna sex u up" and the version on the "New Jack city" soundtrack! Very subtle difference!
My fav Color me badd song was a ballad called "Forever love", from the Damon and Marlon Wayans comedy "Mo' money" (1992)! That song is gorgeous (one of my all-time fav movies too) Also that song was written by the group with.....yep Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, possibally the greatest pop production team ever! "Forever love", whilst very corny, has a wonderfull feeling about it and was the last single I remember hearing from them, which was a shame really! I think copycats "All4one" took their place. Try and find "Forever love" (I've had it since the "Mo' money" soundtrack came out) as it is a very beutifull track! Thanx 4 reminding me about the group "Color Me Badd", a very funky, soulfull group that reminds me of the NewJack era, possibally the most underappreciated genre of music ever!

Their contribution to the Mo' Money SDTK is noteworthy. In fact the Mo' Money is one of the best SDTKs of the '90s ("The Best Things In Life Are Free," "Ice Cream Dream," Mint Condition's "My Dear," and Ralph Tresvant's "Money Can't Buy You Love" come to mind). When I see the group All-4-One, I always think them a second-hand C.M.B. They didn't really have that much flavor and soul and were just some pop cash-in act who tried their hardest to mimic R&B vocalization and song structure. C.M.B. was more authentic with their R&B/pop appeal.

Definately one of my guilty pleasures...these guys could sing, no matter how
"fluff" their reputations were. Favs...I Wanna Sex You Up, All 4 Love, I Adore Mi Amor ( my wife would get her panties in a bunch when the spanish rap would come on.), and I think Roll The Dice even got some airplay around here. Thinkin' Back is a nice R&B song, even though their sound was more NewJackSwing. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I don't know why but actually "All 4 Love" sounds a LOT like Maxine Nightingale's "Right Back Where We Started From".

His name is Bryan Abrams. The other members were: Sam Watters Mark Calderon Kevin Thornton I'm a huge fan. I can't believe you guys are taking about 1 album since they came out with 5 albums as late as 1998, including their remix album "Young, Gifted, and Badd" which featured "Forever Love." My favorite songs are From the CMB album: Groove My Mind Thinkin' Back Slow Motion I Wanna Sex U Up (Both versions) All For Love Color Me Badd I Adore Mi Amor From the Time and Chance album: Time and Chance In The Sunshine (Feat Bootsy Collins) The Bells Wildflower How Deep (contains sample of "Crazy You" by Prince) Rosanna's Little Sister Groovy Now From the Now and Forever album: For all Enternity Sexual Capacity (also on Striptease soundtrack) From the Back Last to Know Tonight Tonight The Earth, The Sun, The Rain From the Awakening album: I love all the songs on this one, but the ones that stand out are: Love is Stronger than Pride How Could This be All The Way (Freaky Style) Your Touch These guys are really talented. From the beginning they were writing and co-producing their music. It was a shame to see them not get the popularity they deserved How Could This Be Girl I can’t believe, not in my wildest dreams That you would do this to me That’s why I’m standing here Baptized in all my tears How could you break my heart so easily? I gotta let you know That’s not the way I flow This thing is blowin’ my mind After all that we been through How could you do what you do baby be so unkind How could this be That you would just up and go away from me How could you go You got me feelin’ like I’m kind of all alone How could this be That you would just up and go away from me How could this be You cannot tell me you didn’t know I loved you so How could this… I thought that we were both Seeing eye to eye How could you tell me that lie? That you were down for me Like I was down for you How could you be so untrue? I’m tryin’ to figure out What were you thinkin’ ‘bout When you just walked out my life Cuz every day I still wonder Would you be my wife, so tell me How could this be…. Cuz girl I’m in a bad situation So tell me what am I supposed to do I don’t have a clue what I’m facin’ I’m still in love with you And every day I’m not with you My heart is slowly breakin’ I don’t wanna be right When you always do me wrong So why am I singin’ this song How could this be… See my father cannot tell me My mother cannot tell me My sister cannot tell me My brother cannot tell me How could this happen to me? How could you do this to me? How could you break my heart When I was down Love is Stronger than Pride Don't throw your life away Right now you've got it made You've gotten in over your head This isn't natural You got to close the door now They said we would fail But I just got to believe I've tasted fear and I had my share of pain Without my pride you know I'll risk everything baby Everytime I feel your touch I want it over and over again, oh And now I can't let you go Cuz I can no longer hide I'm fallin' deeper inside And love is stronger than pride You gotta know We've reached the end of the line And I will lay down my life Cuz love is stronger than pride With no beat in my heart Just runnin' from the dark And much too afraid to be sure I can't stand the pain of livin' life in vain A danger no longer the heart can endure Nothing is real if I can't feel your touch Walk through the fire, I know that won't be too much Every second I live I promise you I need it over and over again, oh And now I can't let you go... I never believed this dying flame could ever burn again Now I will stand like a rock Till there's no more to give Give up my life for that one chance to live (For) Your touch in the night I can't let this die, oh no And now I can't let you go...
