Bob Dylan: Live

Good evening, I'm going to Minneapolis' second greatest son in June. I have never seen him live, and I'm just wondering if he is any good. He is up there as one of my all time favourites, but I can't decide if this is gonna be shite

Any comments would be delightful

Saw him on his UK tour last year. Fucking awful. Saw him with Tom Petty in 1986. Fucking awful. Love the guy's music, but seeing him live? - never again.

i've seen him live 3 times in recent years... saw him twice in one week once... the man never disappoints and the set list is never the same... the songs are always re-arranged for live performance, and it generally takes a little while to recognize what song it is that he's singing... which i like... it makes it like a game... "what song is this..?"...

the only thing you should be prepared for is that he doesn't talk to the audience... he'll introduce his band and that's it...

oh, and has anyone seen the new bob dylan victoria's secret commercial... the man is a bad mutha, fo' sho'.... biggrin

I've seen him twice. Once at the concert for Bangladesh in 1971, where he did a folkie type set (after a set featuring George Harrison, Ringo, and Eric Clapton - ha, ha, in yo' face LS!) and once about five years ago. At the recent one he had a loud, dirty, garage band sound. He was very good at both, and it's great to see how he continually reworks his songs. However, he is known to have off nights and doesn't interact or wear his "stardom" graciously. Like another fellow we know, Dylan's a musical genius, so he's always worth checking out.

Have fun and please let us "Eminem-hatin', Justin-hatin', Britney-hatin', MJ-hatin', JJ-hatin, all-around-processed-shit-fake-music-hatin' " people know how it was.

evil... well, i woulda been there, if i was born... hmph!...

and yeah... when i saw him, he flipped it up a lot... everytime i've seen him, he generally starts acoustic for the first couple of songs, and then goes electric... from then on, he changes back and forth, but primarily sticks with the electric garage band sound...

Not trying to nitpick, but Dylan is from Duluth, Minnesota, not Minneapolis.
