Any one catch his latest album ?

I bought it last summer, it's pretty good though I only listen to it once in a while... I guess it's one of those discs I pick up a year later and suddenly love it.

He's got some lovely sounding Italian girl singing with him on this one. The overall sound is classic, but a little fresh, ya'll should check it out.

As a matter of fact, I just remembered about Tricky's "Blowback" album from 2001-2002.
Sure it was a collaborator-orgy that woulda been more digestible as a double disc album, let's face it, a single disc ain't big enough for Tricky, Ed Kowalczyk of Live, Alanis Morisette, Cyndi Lauper, Birdman, the dude from Chilli Peppers...and anyone else I forgot.

I'm a huge Live fan, (not really obsessive anymore, because they're really good at isolating their fanbase through poor choices) so I bought that CD with the intent of spinning "Evolution Revolution Love" nonstop (plus the video with Tricky, Birdman, and Ed Kowalczyk changing into each other back and fourth was entertaining)

HOWEVER... who is this sensational Stella singing with Tricky ?!

Her name is "Ambersunshower". Is she an artist with her own legitimate albums ? Has anybody heard of her outside 'Blowback'? These days I usually skip to the tracks she's featured on.

"Your Name" is soft, sexy and catchy, but most of all

"You Don't Wanna" was my favorite. She has this sultry android thing going on.

Anyone know anything else about Ambersunshower ?

I don't have any Tricky, but I've heard some. This guy just told me that my track "Flutter" reminds him of Tricky's Maxinquaye period. So now I'm gonna have to get it. razz

I really dig his voice and I liked him in The Fifth Element.

I saw Live a few years ago and itw as a very momorable experience. What an energetic and talented band!!As a surprise,Dennis Rodman ran onto the stage outta nowhere and sang with them. The place went nuts!!

I love this one. It's also my favorite, although I also really like "Pumpkin" and "Abbaon Fat Track". Damn, I nearly wore my Maxinquaye CD out years ago I was so into it. biggrin

I know that name and I don't know why. I think I saw an interview with her once somewhere, but I found her bio online:

Biography
Born New York, USA. Ambersunshower - which is her real name - made a big impact in 1996 with the release of her debut album for Gee Street Records. Marketed by her label as "alternative soul", the record's judicious combination of R&B, swing, pop and hip-hop endeared her to a wide-ranging audience. The title Walter T. Smith came from the artist's grandfather, who was also a musician. "Walter T." was also the first single to be taken from the album, which was produced by PM Dawn and Tikk Takk, among others. Her first performance experiences had come when combining soul music with poetry and spoken-word work, ensuring that when she toured with a full band to promote her debut, she was well versed with stage etiquette and had the confidence to animate her eclectic songwriting.
