Anyone who is a fan of Aerosmith, modern blues, dirty blues, gospel blues or anything inbetween will absolutely LOVE this CD.
It doesn't officially come out until Tuesday, but I got mine on Saturday from the Sony Music Store site (pre-ordered about a month ago, never expected to get it early). So far the stand out cuts are Never Loved A Girl, The Grind, You Gotta Move, Eyesight To The Blind & Back Back Train (Joe Perry at his finest, with Tracey Bonham thrown in to add a little pepper to the vox (she shows up later on Jesus Is On The Main Line (Aero doin a little gospel-revival type tune is something I never though I'd hear, but it works brilliantly))). The special edition CD comes with a cool little harmonica keychain (which actually plays (even though it's only 2 notes)).
I guarantee that any overall rock fan couldn't possibly be dissapointed.
Now I'm even more excited about seein' them live (and I will be in a week 7 a half in Columbia, SC (if anyone else is goin, I'll see you there)).

There's a new album from Aerosmith?!

I got the impression from the tracklist that they are doing a "back to the roots/hard blues" kinda thing.Is that the case? I love their early LPs but havent cared much for their 80s& 90s stuff.

I heard the cover of "Please Dont Go" on the radio the other day.

It really does sound like the earlier stuff, only The Grind (which is the only one they actually wrote) sounds closer to "new" Aerosmith but even it has a much ballsier feel than anything they've done in the past 15 years (I think Pump was really the last truly great Aerosmith CD, and this one I think I actually like better)

Also (I just figured out how to get it to work) there's some CDExtra footage on the disc showing lots of behind the scenes footage of the making of this CD & interviews with the band. Very cool.

OK folks. It's officially out today. Do yourself a favor & don't pass this up today (yeah, I'm talkin' to you. Put that JJ CD down & get some REAL music! (Just kidding!)). You won't be dissapointed
