TTDs "Designated Fool" This song flat out kicks ass and should remind people that Terence Trent D'Arby is a fricken genius. Definitely the best song from Wildcard 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Agreed, Wild Card is a great CD...too bad it didn't get much recognition, Though the reviews I read for it in Spin & Entertainment Weekly were very flattering. Wish he would attempt to tour here again, I bought tix for his Boston show last year, only to have him cancel a week later "Radio Boy Said It Wasn't Rock / Another Said It Wasn't Urban Pop / Man This Bullshit Here Has Got To Stop / I'm Just Trying To Make Some Music" - Stevie Salas, Tell Your Story Walkin' (1995)

Great song! Great album! (Although I've yet to get the Joker edition). Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

It's pure genious how he works the effects on his voice. Listening with headphones is pure bliss. I've only ever heard it with headphones - PS What vocal effects Vina? Do you mean the different ways he sings, flatter at times and solo in the middle (phwoar btw...)?

But there is one part, I think in the second verse where it sounds like he's in the background then he comes in clear. It always makes me wonder, "why did he do that?"

It always makes me wonder, "why did he do that?" I listened again after work and just the way he uses delay on one line, then takes it out. You'll notice once he also pans his voice to the left, then to the right for another line. I'm just fascinated by this kind of stuff right now, because that is what I'm focusing on with my music: recording and editing vocals and knowing when to do what. Plus the background vocals are just supreme.

Yes it is a great song...
My other favorite are What shall I do (very touching) Testify Everythang The whole album is incredibly done. I saw him in Philly and NY last year and he did (besides many others) Designated fool wonderfully!! Get the Album if you haven't already!
