The Future of the RRH of F from todays major artists, who do you think will be in the Hall Of Fame one day?
i think somebody like Whitney Houston even tho she is kinda messed up at the moment. U2 are a shoo-in and i'm sure Beck, Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys and Radiohead will be in there one day.

That's funny because I wouldn't vote for any of these people you named-- U2 maybe. Then again guys like me don't sit on these types of panels. Don't get me wrong they're all good, talented artists/performers but the Hall should be for the all time greats. The James Browns, Bob Dylans, Princes, Beatles, etc. ZZ-top, solo George Harrison (it's silly because he's already in) and the people you named just aren't of that same quality. I guess when I make my own Hall of Fame I get to decide that.

Has Brian Eno been inducted? He certainly deserves to be, considering he produced most of the best rock albums of the '80s and '90s.

The day when Foetus gets inducted to the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame I think the whole instition can finally be called relevant.

Co-Sign the guys are already hip hop legends as it is. It would be a sin for them not to make it in. *********************************************
I'll believe it when I see it

The Hall really is a crock isn't it?
This years inductees, MINUS PRINCE, were LAME,LAME,LAME... Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

The other inductees paid their dues and deserve the respect just the same as Prince does. Open your mind!

C'mon gang. The RRHofF is only about one thing, really. MONEY. If you sell enough records you will get in.
I'm not saying this is bad- only that its a fact. Madonna will get in. Britney will get in. If you generate revenue for the industry you will be rewarded with this "honor". But like a Grammy or an Oscar or whatever its not an "honor". Not in any pure sense like the Nobel Prize or something. Its a MARKETING DEVICE. Industry people decide who to honor in hopes of garner attention, selling the back catalog, etc. Bravo to Prince for co-opting their interests in furtherance of his own (promoting the Musicology tour and album). NIIIICE!! But remember- it may be dressed up like a peacock but it still quacks like a duck!! It is what it is.

And before you say it I'm not saying everyone in the Hall sold a lot of records. Many of them didn't. Indeed there are "credibility" picks in there to give it the appearance of legitimacy.
But right next to them are ZZ Top. I love ZZ Top. But C'mon! Next to the Beatles? Next to Elvis? Next to Hedrix? Next to The Beach Boys? Next to Prince? C'mon!! But they've sold how many records?! DAYAM!!!

Here's who I am looking forward to in the future:
The Sex Pistols (come on already) The Cure The Smiths ABC New Edition Human League Duran Duran Kraftwerk INXS The B-52's THE SPECIALS!!!!! (hopefully they can reunite then) I could go on forever, but I won't. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

DAYAM!!! What you say has some truth to it, but it's not the whole story. Groups like Abba (yes, ABBA!), Kool & The Gang, and Chicago have sold a ton of records and aren't in so far. They've all been eligible for a long, long time. Hall & Oates are the best selling duo of all time, and they're still not in. There are more. The Hall has its politics, just like any other awards show. ` [This message was edited Mon Mar 22 22:49:35 2004 by Supernova] This post not for the wimp contingent.
