What The Hell Was Kid Rock Smoking... When he said something about "Up until now Bob Seger has been the only performer.." blah, blah, blah...some shit he was babbling? I immediately turned the station and waited until Prince came back on (the end) because clearly this man missed the opener or was just high as fuck.

I actually thought Kid Rock had the best induction speech. You could tell he had love for Seger, high or not.

I thought Kast and Alicia Keys did. Robert Towsend's was nice also.

No offence to anyone on this thread, but it clearly shows ignorance when I read "who the fuck is Bob Seger anyway"? Bob Seger has a catalogue of many great songs. His hayday was indeed the 70's and early 80's. He may not be spewing out the hits today, but show some respect for a musician who has clearly paid his dues and has many loyal fans. Kid Rock may be an asshole, but Bob Seger was and probably still is a good musician and songwriter.

Umm, that was my point Prince hasn't had a hit in 10 years! You don't have to remind me who this web site is dedicated to. I'm not part of all the naysayers on this site. I happen to respect real musicians, unlike so many other people on this site that don't seem to have any respect for anyone, not even Prince. Ok, maybe for Britney and the like.

Kid Rock and Seger are homeboys. If Seger was the local hero growing up . . .
(and we ALL know Detroit never had any other musical heroes . . . ) then of course Kid Rock is going to soup him up in his induction speech. That should be expected. I am sure Hendrix and Beatles fans watching the show probably thought Alicia Keys had some nerve showering Prince with such accolades in her induction speech. In any event, Seger is a deserving recipient. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Bob is deserving... ...although Bob's performance that night was Anything but "praise deserving!" ...he did have reported vocal-chord problems, & it definitly showed. as proud as i was for P, i cringed just as hard for Bob's performance. yikes!
