I interpreted the crack question as which artists totally, completely do it for you; i.e. you've seen them live numerous times, tracked down almost every single song they've released, etc. While I really like many artists (see my profile), the "crack" thing narrows it down to a small few for me. Some people here listed over 30 artists! Are all those musicians really their "crack?"

cheese, well yes... I never anlyzed some Boney M lyrics really... lol
but admit: they put out some Disco classics... and back in the days.. when I was a kid.. me too... boxed never bought an album though... but that's a side point LOL

I dunnno about the US, but in Europe they are considered the 70's Millie Vanilli, never sang a tone themselves (it was the same producer, playing the same stunt twice!)

is it just my perception, or is most of this music in the same genre....?

Mine u all my mates think its weird that i listen 2 prince when i also got the metal!!

but surely most collections of any considerable size (mines in the region of 400 albums) covers many genres?, funk, jazz, blues, rock,punk,metal,pop,etc,etc..

Alice IN Chains
Bush
Miles Davis (yes Princes fault biggrin )
Foo Fighters (not because of the now link with Dave Grol, its the Nirvana link that got me..)
George Clinton (in all his guises (sp?)...), (yes also P's fault...)
Hed P.E.
John Lee Hooker
Incubus
Led Zepplin
Lenny Kravitz
The Manic Streeyt Preachers
Nirvana
One Minute Silence
Pearl Jam
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Therapy?
Neil Young

Just a grab (started at 1 end of the collection and worked my way through... no real order) of my faviorates.

I think it's your perception. if you look again through a lot of these lists you'll find some very diverse artists, from Frank Zappa to Miles Davis To Ravel and Debussy to XTC to Joni Mitchell, toHorace Silver, to Springteen to Rage against the Machine...

I'm not old, yet the music I listen to could be considered by some to be "old". There are just a lot of people on this board that have good taste in music. The majority of great music is not being made now, it was already done thirty years ago. Personally, all of my favorites were putting out their albums before I was even born.

fishslap There, is that better? Do you get it now??? giggle

Seriously though, have you heard From the Choirgirl Hotel? To Venus and Back? I think you might like those. One thing about Tori is that she is SUCH an amazing performer and she is sooo giving to her fans that the love just builds. I adore her. Tori changes her shows up about 50% each night. If she plays 2 nights in the same city, she plays a completely different set the second night. She just fucking RULES.

Checkout her setlists here: http://toriset.dyndns.org/
Download lots of bootlegs here: http://www.hereinmyhead.com/sounds/

Her new live DVD is coming out in 2 weeks! dancing jig
