Where Is This Brotha?

Not the best album, IMO, (at least not better than his lil' bro, Raphael Saadiq's wink) but nevertheless it had some pretty good tracks on there. The man is really talented on the axes. thumbs up!

Straight up, mocha! lol

I thought it was a pretty decent album, Harley. I especially liked his rendention of Sinatra's "Fly Me To The Moon." He also comes pretty close to Tony Maiden's guitar style. I think he must've studied every damn Rufus album there was. wink

Nah, he leans mo' into that Okaland electric guitar sound if that makes any sense(it has a unique sounds that you could define out of others).

Tony's sound is on the other hand too mid-western if you know what I mean(He too learned alot of tricks and sounds from Johny Guitar Watson nod).

Altho he has some cool moments like you stated, there's no enthusiasim in his music which is his album is under the bed.

I feel ya, but there are a lot of riffs Dwayne does with that guitar that mimicks Tony's.

Check the guitar intro to TTT's "(Lay Your Head On My) Pillow." Not to mention the guitar lick he re-did for a Jody Watley song (can't remember the name right now) off the Dr. Doolittle soundtrack. It's the same damn lick from "Pack'd My Bags!!!" lol

He had a 4 track promo of new material floating about last year. I never got to hear any of those tracks. I just hope they are a vast improvement upon those Eyes Never Lie tracks. I was thoroughly disappointed in that. After hearing his productions for Blu, Simple E and 'Strawberry 143' from the Living Single soundtrack, I was certain that he might give Raphael a run for his money. I guess my expectations were just too high.

one more thing: I thought Wyclef was the first guy to sign Destiny's child confuse

Dwayne signs Destiny's Child in their infancy to his production company Grass Roots and lands them with Columbia Records. He has Produced several songs for the Diamond Artist.-http://www.grassrootsente....com/1.htm
