When is ol' Chaka releasing a new album? Is it through her indie label, Earth Song?

what????? i liked the colored section! It was refreshing to hear such positive music for a change. I thought his music was 10 x's more mature than some of the junk that's out these days. Look at the cuts, "Heaven Sent" and "You've Got A Friend." Someone stole mine when my house was broke into. Ironic, ain't it? You at least have'ta respect the man's lyrics, if nothing else. Besides "Cloud Nine," the album didn't do anything for me. You can have my copy if you want it.

[This message was edited Wed Mar 17 11:32:43 2004 by Harlepolis] what does his being a black jew have to do with anything? and is this the first time you guys have ever heard about a small segment of jews in society that actually accept the christ? as a black chick also with jewish roots i can tell you most certainly that they do exist, and have existed since the death of christ was recorded, although true enough the overwhelming majority of jews ( from orthodox to reform) do not accept that jesus (though clearly jewish) was the messiah... ...but back to donnie: sometimes things look a little stranger in print than the context they were intended; last year a friend and i had the pleasure of receiving recorded interview with donnie through the mail from an orger who has worked with him, and he was great. he discussed some of the same topics that they touched on in the vh-1 printed interview (which i'm sure was edited), but in the spoken interview everything comes out a bit more coherently, and one really gets a feeling for donnie's philosophy on a few things. yeah, you do sense some bits of eccentricity here and there because his ideas are not mainstream, but then, do we really need yet ANOTHER usher or r.kelley, moanin' and groanin' in the same old ways, about the same old subjects (not that i don't like some of their music!)? an artist like donnie is much more interesting to me, personally.

David, I personally think you will love this album. Cloud 9 is my favorite track on the album as the live music in the background kicks! I am not really good at giving a track by track review but I think the album flows very nicely.

A lot of people seem to love it, but it didn't do anything for me. I thought it was quite boring and aside from "Cloud 9" it should've been sold as a decrotive coaster.
