babysitters

its a cool song, the line about booties in the air seems a bit dumb....

he seems to be going in a garage rock/semi-glam direction like a lot of rock artists at the moment.... sounds cool though

Therapy

OK, I've listened on line to sharp dressed man. There are similarities, but they both have totally different feels man.

I enjoy it anyway. Only Len knows if he blatantly ripped off someone else and after years of enjoying his music, I've come to appreciate that Lenny is similar to Prince in the sense that he is expressing something important to him and his sound is his own, even if it does sound similar to something else.

I can't remember what Prince song it is, but I noticed a while ago a bit of a track that sounds very similar to a song someone else did. I still loved the song though, because it was a great song!

Lenny is no fool, he wouldn't release a blatant rip off...

PS Any excuse for a Lenny picture... (MrBliss would be proud...)

They are both totally gorgeous!

I dont think anyone is comparing Prince and Lenny Kravitz. Personally, I'm not "bashing" or shredding" anyone. In fact, we dont even have to limit this topic to any one artist in particular. We can name many "artist" who have made careers off of other peoples music and image. I dont think that Lenny copys other artist at all. I do, however hear..let's call them "uncanny simililarites" between many of his songs(this one included) and songs that other artist have previously recorded. There is a big difference between being influenced by someone, and ripping someones music/song. If you listen to this single you can sing the verse to zztops "sharp dressed man" over it (the 1st verse, anyway. I stopped listening shortly after the chorus). To me that a little deeper than an influence. To my ears thats the same song. Do you really have me defending zztop? Now thats deep.

peace.

i listened to the song, "sharp dressed man". Well, it's true. the first verse is almost equal, but it's equal to another dozen of rock song. that's not a rip-off to me.
Alycia Keys "Falling" was a James Brown rip-off. From "It's a man's man's world". They're EQUAL.
So, she rips-off but she's a genius, Lenny rips-off and he sucks?
Explain

I never said she was a genius.
