Back in the day album: Karyn White "Ritual Of Love" I dug out this album and it's pretty damn good. The hits "Romantic" and "The Way I Feel About You" are the perfect blends of R&B and pop. The first half (6 of 12 songs) are more upbeat and in my opinion better. I do love the steamy "How I Want You". I just really dug this album and thought I woul share.
Anyone know what happened to her? She seemed to suffer the same fate as many female R&B artists. Had two albums that did good, had a few hits and then the third more mature album.... Is she still working on a follow up? Not that I have any idea but it always seems like there are some artists that still appear to be working on a new album that will never happen. Is she married or still married to Terry Lewis? Any fans out there?

She's still married to Terry Lewis, I believe.
This album is great. The singles you mentioned are wonderful confections, but my favourite track is "Walkin' The Dog". She sounds incredibly sexy on that one (well, on most of her material she does). Better keep him on a leash Teach him how to be sweet Why does my man wanna roam all over Buring bones on every corner Gotta keep him on a leash Teach him how to be sweet (just walkin' the dog) I know he's supposed to be A girl's best friend But he's my dog And I love him It never, never fails He starts to wag his tail And I just have to say Good boy The 12'' mix of that song is ultra-hot. If anyone would like it, orgnote me for an mp3. Another of my favourites is "Do Unto Me" (track 11), in which Karyn demands emotional stability from her man (a common theme in her records). Her 1994 album was also great, but it underperformed unfortunately. "Hungah" was a sexy number. [This message was edited Mon Mar 15 15:10:21 2004 by VoicesCarry]

I heard that her and Terry Lewis broke up in 1996. My favorite songs on this album are the title cut, Romantic, Hooked on you, Do Unto Me, One Heart, The Way I feel about you, and Tears of Joy.
Her third album "Make him do right" was also good.

Her third album "Make him do right" was also good. Websites (and a recent aritcle I read) still claim they're together. One of the few successful protege/producer marriages, I suppose.
