i was listening to chic colection ,and that bass was so funky.not a single slap bass but incredably fonkey.
i think larry graham couldn't hold a candle to late bernard edwards from chic.

Well,they both R funky in their own way.I don't think U really
can compare them since they R so different.
Bernard,Larry,Bootsy,James Jameson 4 example have their own style
& own streinght. It's true that Bernard Edwards was funky, but then he's
not raw, dirty & stompin' like Larry.

There ya go. nod I find myself listening to Bernard much more than Graham, and I'm not one of those Prince fans that can't hear Larry's instrumental greatness simply because they don't like the fact that he's in Prince's life. I dig Bernard's overall style more than Larry's. But Edwards DID throw in some slap once in a while, just not as much as Graham.

Not better, just different. I mean, it's not cut-and-dry -- like Hendrix being a better guitarist than Prince. wink

I'm not gonna get into comparisons, but B-Edwards was nasty.

I'm gonna have to say "No". Larry in his prime was the Shit! And was innovative and influenced way too many cats.

Both Bernard was great. Chic came up with some killa bass lines.
