Just heard, he intends 2 release a 'DUETS' album 'next year'. (ahem) lol

Reportedly, it's comprised of mostly older tracks with 4 new ones to be recorded in the next year.

It's my birthday Friday and I'm going to buy it for myself! biggrin

Y'know Nana, I love Freeek too. I loved it when it came out, I think it was underrated big time. Also, I am really pleased for him for only making internet music. I'd love for Prince to go that way too. There's something for me about people dropping out of industry to care perhaps for something internal that's really admirable. If that's why he's doing it, I know, he said he doesn't need the money, but I think there's more to it than that.

I'm gagging to get it now!

Seems to me that he loves the artistic aspects of creating and releasing music but that he doesn't want/can't handle the intrusive nature of celebrity status that comes with being a big commercial artist.

Haven't heard the entire album yet (in fact, I have yet to buy it; which is uncommon for me when it comes to new music I just HAVE to have), but I thank you wholeheartedly for dedicating a thread to this fabulous artist and his latest offering.

George, you are the man! smile

Rubbish! George is just saying that to sell more copies of his (admittedly mostly brilliant) new album. It's called publicity.

My opinion, your opinion, their opinion... they are the same, opinions... Just as there is unashamed methods to promote products in the world and the cynical view of that happening, there is also people acting out of genuine places, which contributes towards their self respect, not mine, yours or any one elses. At the end of the day, it is only what he does in his own eyes that is important. I guess all one can do is look at what they find admirable and do something similar themselves -- I think I see George leaving fame behind for his personal growth. That inspires me to be more involved in important issues for my own life. It sounds like you are saying that he is saying that for publicity. What you get out of that, is... what?

SassyFras

ok, so by now i have had the new cd for a few weeks...since the end of march, actually. there are a bunch of tracks that i just love. cars and trains, flawless, patience, amazing...a few others as well. i am very excited to have a new collection of songs from george and i'm very happy with the cd. the only downfall i think the disc has is his melodramatic tendencies. some of the songs are just SO dramatic. i know george does this on occasion...hey, all of us fags do lol...but for some reason, this time around it doesn't fare well with me. maybe i just need to get used to those songs but, really, that's gonna be hard since i skip them all the time. i don't even know what tracks they are because i never pay them any mind. it annoys me a little because i feel like after waiting all this time for a disc of new material...damn it, they should all be the best fucking work of his career, lol! oh well...what can you do? i'll just continue to love the other songs on this otherwise wonderful cd.
