Dead Milkmen's Dave Blood RIP www.deadmilkmen.com/dmffa...topic.php
Posted on the Dead Milkmen message board: This morning Dave Blood is no longer with us. David is my brother. Since the breakup of the band David has never really found his niche in life. My brother was a smart clever and talented person. Inner peace has seemed to elude him for the last many years. Sometime last night David chose to end his life. He left a note that I don't know all of what it said,he was not elaborate-but he said he just could not stand to go on any longer. Our mother passed away at the end of January and maybe David just had had enough. There will be a memorial service in a few weeks. I will try to remember to come to this board and post it.It will be in the Delaware County area. Please pray for the respose of my bother's soul; that he now has the peace that seemed to elude him most of his life. I want to say that one of the shiniest parts of David's life was being a Dead Milkman and having that claim to fame. And the fans who appreciated the talent and time that went into making the band rise above the ordinary-thank you all for making my brother feel and know that he was indeed somebody. Kathy This sucks. I was a huge Dead Milkmen fan when I was younger, and Beelzebubba was pretty much the soundtrack for one of the best summers of my life. I hope he found his peace.

I have to admit that I don't know who this person is (was), but it's very sad when someone takes their own life. It's very hard on the loved ones they leave behind. RIP!

Yeah, it's sad he couldn't find a happy life after the band...they still have a lot of fans, and it's just terrible news.

RIP Dave... I too, am not familiar with the Dead Milkman, or Dave Blood. I am familiar with the tragedy that is suicide. We dealt with that in 1986... I'd rather not go into it, it's very personal.
I feel for his family, as they are the ones that are gonna have to deal with this... God bless them all. |

This is very sad news. Beelzebubba was one of my main albums as I partied through Senior High. RIP Dave Blood.

man,
this definitly sucks. Joe used to call me up whenever they rolled thru detroit. it was a blast hangin' out with those cats. sucks that they got hammered down as a novelty act. they are so much more. i will forever treasure my Orange-Crush bottle they all graffiti'd up for me. a true work of art. R.I.P. Dave. Thanks for all the music!!!

Man, this is so sad. I love the Dead Milkmen! We used to listen to "Big Lizard In My Backyard" and "Eat Your Paisley" on the schoolbus back in the day! Who can forget classics like "Watching Scotty Die" and "You'll Dance To Anything"?
Such a shame. Rest in peace, brother Blood. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)
